Ch.4 The Wolf Clan

Sounds of bashing flowed through the elders hall. The elder woke up to find out what that sound was he searched around the house for a while till he found marax training with a wodden sword and with Joseph the head guards of the house. They both fighting all out and no holding back, looked like they actrually were trying to kill each other. Joseph flinges the Marax's sword in the air and steps foward with his sword near his throat.

"looks like I won marax."

"you sure?" as he said that the wodden sword that was flung into the air hit joseph on his shoulder and he drops the sword and marax pushes him down then grabs it before it falls and places it on Joseph's throat.

"you need to be more aware of your surroundings joseph." he lends out a hand and helps him up

"nice marax" the elder clapped his hands a few times. "so you finally got the little trick i showed you"

"yes i did sir." marax gave a bow

"how long have you guys been training"

"since sunrise which was like maybe 2-3 hours ago."

"i see always up early to train thats good. when your done marax i would like to speak with you."

"ok sir i will see you as soon as possible."

the elder walked away and back to his room, the two men went back to training for another hour then went to clean up. Marax got out of his room and juana was walking passed his room.

"hey juana, do you know where the elder is?"

"yes he is eating breakfast in his office."

"ok thanks."

He walked into the elders office and he was sitting on one of the couches in his room eating. He walked over to the elder and sat on the couch. One of the maids brought marax a baked patato and some meat and eggs then left.

"So have you gaven joining the berserkers guild he really would like you to join."

"No i wont join im not ready to join any guilds right now."

"Ok thats understandable. Well ill let him know thank you have to sadly decline his offer but that isnt the only thing i want to talk to you about. we have more ergent matters to attend to." the elder takes a drink of his juice.

"What do you mean what going on?" he said with a serious look.

"Before I went to bed I had a message sent to me saying the Queen is sending as much troops as she can to take out the goblins that hold one of our old castles that fell out of our control during the great war. The berserker will be leading this attack the nomad will not be involved with the kingdoms he is now the guradian of the dragon island asuka. The name comes from of the first nomad that was he home island." he took another drink and looked at marax with a serious face.

"What does it have to do with me? If the berserker is going dont think they will have a problem since the legendary heroes are the most strongest people in history."

"Yes they are but I don't want you to help with that. Since there is not as many soldiers they can't go fight against a pack of werewolfs that have been roaming around the city. They have attacked a few travelers and merchants heading to the city. I would like you to hunt them down."

"Yes I will" he gets up and starts walking out.

"You don't want to know the reward that isn't like you?"

"If it's werewolfs I don't care if I don't get if I barely get any money."

"I see still not over it are you."

"I don't think I ever will" he walks out of the room.

"When will he learn to let go of the past."

Marax walks to his room and gets his weapons and walks out of the house. He walked to the the city wall and looked out to the forests. He looks around to see if anything stands out. He thought where would they be hiding out and thinks to himself maybe the mountain. He walks out of the city and heads toward the mountain as he was getting close he headed howls.

"I guess I was right" he said to himself as he heard the howl again but louder. A wolf springs out of no where and slashes at marax but misses as marax lunged forward. The werewolf swops around and try's to attack again but marax shoot it in the head. He looked at it and walked on. As he got to the entrance of the cave on the side of the mountain he kept walking and they jumped to attack but shortly just fell as Marax threw two silver knifes at there throats.

"Seems like they know I'm here."

He walked into the cave when he killed the those werewolfs there wass no sign of mercy. He walked deeper into the cave and was quiet. The howling stoped once he entered, he came to a big opening with a waterfall.

"wow there is a waterfall in this cave looks amazing." he said while looking around and seeing a bunch of tunnels.

"man this is a crazy cave, so many cave systems, they could be anywhere by now."

He takes a drink out of the water then looks around the and finds foot prints barely visiable. He walks into the cave with the foot print at hte enterance He walked for a while till meeting a werewolf with a huge war axe. Old werewolfs eventraully learn how to control the wolf but the rest the beast controls them.

"so your the elder."

The werewolf chared at him going to ram him with his head but marax jumps, then jumps on his head a second time as the wolf ran past him. The wolf quickly stopped and swung its axe but marax ducks then shots 2 arrows at each legs. The wolf fell to his knees, marax walkd up to him with a sword against his neck then the beasts head sliced off. He cleans his sword and puts it away, then he picked up the gigantic axe and heads back down the cave. 

"This is pretty heavy but not the bad might be able to sell it for a good price." He said to himself the reached to the end of the cave he looks around and sees a bunch of cages. There was a little girl maybe 12 and a older lady in her mid 30's. marax looks around and finds a key he opens up both of the cages the little girl looked scared to death.

"don't worry the monsters are gone are you ok" the girl nodded after his response she had blonde hair with light brown stranse and she was white with very light brown eyes.

"is that your mom?" she nodded and he noticed she hadent gotten up since he got there. "stay here im going to check on your mom." he walks into her cage and she had a huge cut on her stomach and was bleeding a lot.  He went up to her to see how bad it was then she grabbed his hand.

"please i know i cant survive this just before you came that older werewolf did this. He tired to turn both of us but i guess i cant turn but they did the same thing to my daughter." she said it quietly so the daughter wont hear. The lady starts shedding tears while looking at marax. "please take care of her. I beg you please keep her safe." 

"I.... I'll keep her safe." he said as he helped her up to face the daughter. The daughter sow her bleeding, then she was starting to cry. "please go with him he will keep you safe." the mom said trying to crack a smile to show ecerything will be ok. "no we can.." she was cut off with her mom saing no and nodding. "you guys should go now." she said trying to get marax to take her way from here and he just nods.

He goes to the cage and lifts up the girl as he carries he on his shoulders he starts walking away as the little girl crying and yelling to put her down then tried to get out of his grip but he wouldnt let go. He kept walking till they couldnt see that room anymore and the daughter gave up on getting out and just cried on his shoulders then he randomly stoped.

"I am sorry about your mom, I went through kinda the same thing. right now I need you to lose your eyes untill i say to open them."

"W-why?" 

"Dont want you to see the dead bodies." 

"..." she froze for a little then nodded and put her face into his shoulder and closed her eyes. he walked on walking past the dead beasts that he has slain. They finally reach the road to the city he tells her its ok now but she fell a sleep so he kept on walking.

"I made a promise and I will keep it." he said quietly to him self and glanced at her. "I'll protect her I promise."
