Madison's P.O.V.

I got out of the tub and am now getting dressed. Also thinking of what to make. We can't really decide.

"Hey Colby will you help me get my sweater on?" I ask him. I hear him walk into my room and help me pull it over my head and down my body.

"There you go, perfect." He smiles at the gently placed sweater.

"Thank you." I sit down on my bed and he sits next to me.

"So do you know what we're making?" He asks looking at my ceiling. Something suddenly hit my head.

"We could make some chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cornbread." I say quickly. He laughs and nods.

"Sure, whatever you want." He tells me with a smile.

"Mkay, well let's go to he store." I grab his hand after slipping my shoes on. He locks the front door behind him and takes my car keys from me.

Skip until they get home

"You call Mikey and tell him what we're making and that they're free to come over after 6." I tell Colby. He nods and I start getting the things we need out.

"Okay, I did what you told me and he said that was fine. How do I help?" He asks me. I smile and he pulls his sleeves up.

"So first you can unload the stuff we bought and put up what we aren't using to cook."I tell him. He nods and does that, taking his time so he doesn't mess up.

"What now?" He asks.

"Peel the potatoes with me." I sit down and put a bag in front of us as we start peeling the potatoes.

Once we finish that, he dices them up and washes them off. I start the boiling water for them.

Skip rest of the time until Mikey gets there

DING DONG

"That must be them, I'll get it." I kiss Colby and walk quickly to the door. I open it and see Mikey, Bryce, and Bryce's mother.

"Hey guys!" I smile and hug them each, letting them in. Bryce's mom admires my house and so I smile.

"Babe, I need you to help." I hear Colby from the kitchen. I laugh.

"You can do anything you want to pass time. The food is almost done, I'll let you know when it is." I smile at them. They nod and I rush to Colby.

"I don't know how to plate them." He says helplessly. I smile and kiss his cheek.

"I'll do that part and you go get changed." I pay his chest. He jogs upstairs and changes while I'm making everyone their plates.

I sit each plate down at a chair/space. I lay out forks, spoons, and glasses.

"Hey babe, all changed and ready." Colby tells me with a smile.

"Can you tell them they can come on in?" I ask him. He nods and I thank him, kissing his cheek.

They walk into the dining room and sit down at he table where a plate is.

"What do you guys want to drink?" I say opening the fridge. They all look at each other.

"Can I have a coke?" Bryce's mom asks. I smile and nod.

"Yeah, us too." Bryce speaks for himself and Mikey. I nod and grab 3 cokes and poring them into their glasses.

"So, Madison, are you feeling better?" Mama Hall asks. I smile and nod.

"Yeah, I'm out of that mind state so I'm okay. Im trying everything that doctors tell me to do in order to improve myself more." I tell them sitting down. Colby smiles and kisses my cheek.

"Colby, I'm sorry I yelled at you at the hospital the other night. You didn't deserve that man. I know you love my sister and was just doing your best to help." Mikey tells Colby.

I smile. It's all coming together.

We all start eating and talking about embarrassing childhood moments.

"Ooooh I remember that time that I told Bryce to be home by 8 and y'all were in the asleep in the middle of the woods because you were there all day. Oh man was I pissed." Bryce's mom says. I giggle and Bryce is redder than a tomato.

"Oh hush Madison, I remember that time you were sitting in the dirt when we were seven and you started shoveling it into your mouth. You even offered some to the newly moved in kids down the street and their parents said they could be around us anymore." Bryce says almost falling out of his chair.

Mikey busts out laughing alone with Colby. Bryce's mom just laughs at them and me chuckling.

"Mikey threw sticks and rocks at Mr Maudie's gas station because he was convinced the devil was in him because he told Mikey he was too little to be eating all the sugar." I say laughing. He glares at me. Bryce laughs.

"It sounds like your childhood was fun." Colby grabs my hand. He smirks and Bryce's mom brings up the awkward conversation of the night.

"So are you planning on family?" She asks smirking. I choke on my water.

"I actually miscarried one time already but I am wanting a family when i'm ready." I explain to her with a smile.

She gives me a small frown.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to bring up a touchy subject." She wipes her mouth or of discomfort.

"No, no, your fine. I've actually been thinking about my future and how I want it to happen a lot recently. So your okay." I tell her reassuringly. She smiles and nods.

A couple of hours pass

They have left and gone home. Colby and so have picked up and cleaned up what we used.

"Thank you for helping me." I peck his lips. He smiles and wraps his arms around my waist.

"No problem babe." He smiles and walks me upstairs.

"I'm sooooo tired." I plop down on my bed. He giggles and takes a shirt he wore earlier and throws it at me.

"Go change while I change too." He says walking out. I quickly throw off my clothes and throw on Colby's shirt and some spandex.

When he walks back in, he's only wearing sweats. I'm quickly wiping off my makeup and he takes my hair down and puts it up into a messy ponytail. I finish and turn to my bed where he now is.

"Goodnight Colbs." I say as I turn the lights off. He kisses me gently. I smile and he wraps his arms around me.

"Night babe."
