The Return

As I stepped out the cab, the memories hit me. I could see Thalia's tree and smell the strawberry fields and hear the ocean in the background.

Ahhh the ocean. Sea-green like his eyes. His eyes. Percy's eyes. I thought dreamily....Well my brain thought dreamily.

 AHHH!!! Shut up!!! You stupid brain. I kept telling myself

That's a lie I'm a daughter of Athena my brains not stupid.

 You left Percy so get over it. I keep telling myself.

Actually I can argue that he left me first for Rachel.

AHHH!!! Just shut up."After that no more Percy clouded my thoughts.

As I walked up the hill past the boarder, I realised that nothing had changed. Well it has only been a couple of months. The only difference is that there may be more camper since when I left. As I made my way to the big house to meet Chiron I bumped into, the one and only Thalia Grace.

"ANNABETH!!!" She practically screamed

I laughed at her and embraced her in a big hug.

"Thalia... I've missed you sooo much. How are you? What have you been up to? How's Artemis? And the hunt?"

"Whoa their Annie calm down" I glared at her saying "don't call me Annie"

She just laughed and told me that she was doing fine as was the hunters and Artemis. She also told me that Artemis said that she could have a break as long as she wanted to because they weren't that busy during this time of the year.

As we walked towards the big house I informed Thalia on everything that's happening in my life, about Percy and Rachel and why I left. When I looked at her after telling her my story she looked kind of angry but it soon washed away into sadness. Before she could ask any more questions, we made it to the big house and were greeted by Chiron. After all the greetings I went to my cabin which was filled with my sleeping sibling and went to bed.

In the morning I woke up about an hour early before the bell for breakfast was going to ring. Instead of going to bed I decided that I would practise my sword fighting for a bit in the arena. When I got there I could already see it was occupied with none other than Percy Jackson. Just as I was about to turn around and go away he sat down next to someone. Only then did I realise that it was none other than Rachel Elizabeth Dare.

I wanted to leave so much but my body wouldn't move. Right before my eyes I saw Rachel lean in and kiss Percy right on the lips. I was expecting him to pull away but he only grabbed on tighter making my stomach burn with rage and jealousy. Only then did I realise that maybe, just maybe I like Percy more than a friend but realised that it's too late because he already has a girlfriend. As I ran away tears streamed down my face as I ended up at the beach. I wiped away my tears and just looked at the ocean.

"Annabeth"

I turned around to see Selena one of my friends stood there looking at me with shock and sadness.

"Hey" I responded faking a smile

"Are you okay? Why are you crying? She asked with concern

"Percy and Rachel were kissing" i said as traitor tears fell from my eyes 

 Selena looked shocked and confused. I don't know why because i'm sure the whole camp must know they're dating. She simply just sat next to me on the sand listening to me whilst i poured my heart out. 

She concluded that I was jealous because I like Percy, but the truth is I knew I did but I didn't want to admit it, definitely not to an Aphrodite kid.

"I'm so sorry Annabeth....Hey, I know what will sheer you up. Camps doing a sing along tonight and everyone has to go. And so do you missy because I planned it and expect you to be there."

UGH!! Aphrodite kids planning the sing along is not going to be good I thought. However, knowing that she's trying to cheer me up and that she's my friend i couldn't say no.  

"Ok, I'll see you there" I told her.

10 minutes after she left I just got up only to be knocked down again.

I heard a gasp and unfortunately looked up to see the seaweed brain looking at me like he'd see a ghost.

"A...Annabeth"

I gulped down my nerves ready to say something, but instead I ran. I ran away again. From the green eyed boy who stole my heart.
