Lou woke up. He panicked, how long had it been, he could have been sleeping for days. Years might have passed and he wouldn't have noticed because every day would have been the exact same and he wouldn't have been able to tell them apart.
He needed to know the time, the date, and he needed a mirror. Just so he could see how his skin was doing without any sunlight.
He huddled himself in the corner of the room with his ducky and started muttering to himself. Click. His face lit up but then he noticed how ridiculous he looked cuddling with his ducky, as the door opened he rushed to his feet and not being able to find a place to hide his toy he threw it in the direction of the bathroom. Mandy walked into the room and saw Lou standing suspiciously awkward in the middle of the cell, followed by the sound of glass breaking and a qwack then silence. They stared at eachother for a moment too long and felt uncomfortable. Lou then cleared his throught and began to walk around calmly then said "ok so i have some requests, i would like a watch that tells both the time and the date and a mirror, and while your at it i want another lamp cause the one you brought last time wasn't bright enough."
Lou stopped and remembered his reason for curling in the corner with his ducky
"what day is it! No! what year is it!?"
Mandy was astonished by his habit to change emotions so drastically but she just blinked twice and moved past it. "Its only been a day since i brought you your things."
Lou sighed with relief and sat back down on the floor. Mandy continued "well i didnt bring a watch or a mirror but...oh i almost forgot" she rushed back to the door and began pulling something through it, it was just a bit to big to fit through the door frame easily, Mandy tryed her hardest and kept pulling but it didn't budge. After a few minutes of Lou having to listen to Mandys failed Attempts at bringing whatever this was inside, he decided to finely put her out of her misury. He slowly and carefully peeled of his suit jacket like a snake shedding its skin and he began to help her.Finely it was in, a bed. It wasn't exactly what he was use to but it was better than sleeping on the floor. They both struggled to push it into the corner of the cell until Mandy realized she had left the door opened, she then rushed to close it.
'The door was open!' He thought 'i could have literally just ran out, but no i had to help Mandy move a bed for me in my prison cell.' After they correctly placed the bed, Mandy began to unpack some more things she had brought.
Some shampoo and conditioner, shower and bathroom apliencessome, extra clothes (which was basicaly just full black suits folded up with a whit shirt) and last was a basket of food.
It was so full, most of the food was hanging out. "Now this is your food for the whole day, so rashen it out until I bring you more tomorrow. Mandy said still looking to the food 'So this was going to be a daily thing' Lou thought. 'I could live with that.'Mandy picked up the box and was about to walk away when she turned around "i need to ask you something" Lou remained quiet as if saying she could speak. "Why did you run the gauntlet when you knew you couldn't win?" Lous eyes widened with surprise. He tryed to remember exactly what he was thinking, then it all came back "i wanted to prove the sistem wrong, i thought that mabey just mabey this time i would have won but as usual the result stayed the same." 'So there were other times?' Mandy thought but descided not to say, she could tell the wound was still raw. "Oh ok" she said pretending like it wasn't an important question. "And may I ask you a question?" Lou calculatingly said " why did you take the uglies side at the beginning?" Mandy turned to the door "it was because they trully did care about me and all of us"
She walked out.'What did she mean by trully cared' Lou thought, as he tightened his fist 'i care too...well mabey not a lot, but that was expected of him and of everyone. look out for number one and only care for yourself, those were things he burned into his mind.
If he didn't care for himself then who would
Because he knew that no one "trully" cared about him, and they never had.
