Hungry

I run out of Jades room, heading for the front door.

"I'm hungry!!" Bob yells, following me.

I turn to him, completely frustrated from his yelling.

"Ok, what do you want to eat?" I ask, just wanting him to shut up about being hungry.

He shrugs.

"What the hell do you mean-" I mimic his shrug.

He smiles, giggling at how I looked. I roll my eyes, walking to the kitchen and opening the cabinet. I present it to Bob "pick something."

He walks over to look inside.

I look back to the door, just wanting to get somebody.

Bob finally reaches for something, turning to me.
Canned beef.

"That's not breakfast" I state.

"I want it."

"Pick something else-"

"I want it!"

I roll my eyes, grabbing the can and turning to the stove. I grab a sauce pan from another cabinet and place it on the stove. I turn it on, hearing it click 4 times before lighting up.
I turn to the door again, wondering which neighbor to go to. I should probably go to the one across, I know it's a man who looks like he has some sense and trust. People will believe him.

I grab the can and open it up, throwing the lid out.

I look to the door once more. I bite my lip.

"Watch the stove, Bob, I just have to talk to somebody" I state, walking to the front door. I unlock it and walk out, knocking on the door of the apartment room across from mine.

Nobody answers.

I knock again.

Nothing.

I sigh, turning and seeing an elderly woman walking down the hallway with her white dog. By now, any eyes could work.

"O-oh ma'am! Ma'am! I need your help!" I plea, stopping her from walking any further.

In a closer look, she simply looked around her 60's, not very old.

"Yes?" She asks.

"M-my friend is in trouble and I don't know what's wrong with her?? I feel like the police won't believe me if I told them so I need someone else to see so I could have more eye witnesses" I quickly try to explain, tripping in some of my words.

"Oh my! In what kind of trouble is she in??" The woman asks, worried.

"I can't really explain, I need you to see" I say, opening the door wider for her.
She walks in, pulling her dog with her.

"Is it fine if my dog-" she points to her dog, not exactly finishing her sentence.

"O-oh yes it's fine" I allow.

She nods her head.

We walk past the kitchen, the stove still on with Bob nowhere to be seen. Where did he go?

I turn off the stove, not wanting it on while I was gone.

We turn to see Jades room, her door still open with a clear view of her state.

The woman gasps in horror, dropping her dogs leash and covering her mouth.

"Oh my Lord!! What is wrong with her?!" She exclaims.

"I don't know" I say "I thought I was going crazy, I-I just found her like this."

"It looks like devil magic!" She hisses, turning to me with wide brown eyes "oh, Lord, why haven't you called the police?!"

"Like I said, I'm scared they wouldn't have believed me!" I repeat "but now that you saw, I can have proof."

"Call them right now! She can't stay like that!" The woman demands, not even being able to stare at Jade.

I realized I left my phone on my nightstand.

"Ok, let me grab my phone" I state, quickly walking to my room and going to my nightstand.

I look around, only to see my phone was nowhere in sight.

"Oh, where has my dog gone??" The woman exclaims.

"What the..." I mumble. I turn to walk out "ma'am, do you have you-"

Suddenly my door slams right in front of me, hitting my face. I jolt back, gripping my nose as I hissed in pain.

"What the hell??" I groan, walking to my door and pulling on the knob. It doesn't open.

"Hey, why did you close the door on me?!" I yell at the woman.

But silence follows soon after.

"Hello?!" I call out, knocking on the door. And then I think Bob "Bob, did you close the door on me??"

I pull on the knob, so tired of the locked doors. First Jade, now me?!

I yell and pull as hard as I could, eventually falling back when it swung open. I lay on my rugged floor, watching as the door slowly hit my wall.
I look outside, seeing nothing but the blue leash the woman was carrying on the floor, where she had dropped it.

I stand and walk slowly out, looking for the woman.

"Ma'am?" I call out, picking up the leash. My front door was closed, making me think that she must have left.

Did she get so scared that she left?
I groan, rolling my eyes and placing the leash on a table. I had almost gotten somewhere and now I'm back to the start.

I walk to Jades room, looking around for her phone. Without any idea of where my phone was, I hoped Jade would have left hers somewhere in here.

But as I checked under her covers, her shelf's, closet, bookcase, desk, even her pockets, there was no phone to be seen.

I groan in frustration, going to the kitchen and grabbing the telephone on my wall. But when I pressed the buttons, the phone remained silent. I press the buttons again, then hitting it. I remove the telephone, only to see that the wire was cut.

Great, fantastic, wonderful!!
This day was just going marvelous, I thought sarcastically, wanting to cry.

Then I heard barking.

I look to my right to where I heard the barking.

Had that woman left her dog here?
That makes no sense.

I walk towards the sound, turning to the hall. The bathroom door was open, the white dog barking at something inside.

"Hey, puppy" I call out, clicking my tongue "come here."

The dog completely ignores me, seeming to bark louder.

Until suddenly something grips the dog and pulls it into the bathroom, the dog letting out a high yelp.
I gasp, walking back to the wall.
Whatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuck

I could hear bones crack, making me scream. I quickly run towards my front door, until I realized... there is no fucking door.

I look at the plain white wall, my eyes wide with panic.
I put my hands around the wall, searching for something, anything!!

This is dream. This has to be a dream, please let it be a dream!

I turn slowly to the direction of the bathroom, terrified to check what was inside.
I walk towards it, going to the kitchen first to grab the bat Jade had hid before.
I turn down the hall, seeing that the door to the bathroom was still open.
My hands tremble as I tip toe towards it, seeing simply the dark room. I ungrip the bat with my left hand and reach towards the light switch, clicking it on.

And I'm revealed with a bloody dog, it's white fur soaked in it. It's mouth was unhinged completely open to the point where it's jaw touched its chest, and it's head touched it's back. It's tongue stuck out, laying on the floor as blood continued to drain out of its small, lifeless body.

I let out a shrill scream of horror, turning away from the sight. I felt like I was going to vomit, the gruesome sight making me gag.

What had done this?!?

One word comes into my mind.
Bob.
