"Yeah" I reply, looking around the place "better than being dead, I guess."

He chuckles to my statement, walking to me. I felt small next to him, not liking how unnaturally tall he was. I walk back a few steps.

"So, what now, why am I even here?" I ask.

"Oh, so friendship must always come with a cost?" Pennywise pouts.

I stare at him with a puzzled expression "I mean... no."

I stare down at the pile of things.
"do you stay here?" I ask, grabbing a yo-yo that was in the pile.

He hums a yes, watching me carefully. It was as if he didn't even know what to do next.
I play with the yo-yo, letting out a deep sigh.

"You don't have to tell me why you want to be friends with me. You've established not liking too many questions, I guess. But what do we do now? Are you expecting me to do something or have you got a plan?" I ask.

He stares at the yo-yo like a cat, then back to me. He gave me animalistic vibes, watching as he lowered to a sitting position, his one gloved hand pressed against the gavel and the other on his knee. I suppose he could see how uneasy I was with him standing, so I stopped the yo-yo and sat as well.

"It's quiet... isn't it?" He asks.

I stay silent, listening around. He was somewhat right. I could hear water flowing in the sewers and water dripping from pipes. But other than that... complete silence.
I nod in response.

"Imagine how lonely it gets in here... in the quiet" he continues.

I didn't understand where this was going.

"I could imagine very lonely" I mutter.

He nods his head, looking down "for years I've inhabited these sewers. And before it, the earths caves and woods. Alone. Sleeping with nobody beside me in cold nights. Too afraid to explore because the others feared me. Nobody ever speaking to me when I so very needed somebody."

I listen carefully, staring at Pennywise.

"I may have scared you but who am I to know how to make connections. Striking fear on others is all I've ever known to do" he quavers, sounding vulnerable and docile.

We both stay silent. I was out of words. This thing that horrified me was making me feel bad for him. I would never admit it but it was true.
I open my mouth, hoping my mind would come up with something but nothing came out. How was I suppose to react to that?

He frowns, a strange look in his eyes "you wouldn't understand."

"... I can try to" I barely whisper.

Pennywise quickly changes his mood, a hopeful look. He seems to think, then having an idea.
He crawls to me, making me flinch away. He stops, lowering so he would seem safe.

"It's alright" he assures me, raising a gloved hand towards my face. He presses it against my forehead "close your eyes."

I do so, quickly feeling weightless.

I open my eyes, having a vignette view of the world. I was no longer in the sewers, but in a forest.
I look around the dark forest, the sky dark blue and the dark trees tall without leaves. I walk around, the grass stiff and bending from each step I took.

"You humans aren't the only ones who feel fear" I hear Pennywise echo.

I suddenly hear chanting and whooping. I turn, seeing an orange light in the distance.
The light illuminates a group of people. No, a crowd.

I stare at them, tilting my head.

They stop in there place once they've gotten close enough for me to see the amount of people. It was hard to distinguish their face, realizing the light was a fire on a stick.

The man holding the stick raises his arm, pointing at me. He then whoops, the entire crowd doing the same. They begin running towards me, the fire illuminating sharp spears raising.

I immediately realize their intentions, stumbling back. Then turning and going to a full sprint.

The crowd yells a native language, feeling close behind me.

I scream, hearing a loud *woosh*, a spear barely touching me and piercing into the ground.
Other spears follow, close to hitting me.

One hits my shoulder, making me cry out in pain.
I fall, the dirt covering me.

I hear footsteps around me, the crowd circling me. I feel a foot against my back, then the spear getting pulled. I scream again, feeling something wet pour out of my wound as the spear was pulled out. My entire shoulder aches, a burning sting left from where the spear was.
Another foot kicks my other shoulder, making my body turn and face the crowd.
They all were talking aggressively, staring down at me.

"Leave me alone" I whimper, panting for air "please, leave me alone."

Their voices seem to grow louder, their spears raising to strike at me.

"Please" I cry, my whole body feeling terribly hot, like it was on fire. I grit my teeth and clench my hands "I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!"

The last thing I saw was blood everywhere-

I quickly take a wheezy breath in, jumping back. I fall back on the gravel, gripping my chest. I look around rapidly, finding myself back in the sewers.

I look forward, seeing Pennywise in the same place he was before.

"W-what the hell was that?!" I scream.

"What I've went through" he simply states.

I quickly look to my shoulder, seeing no wound. Yet, the feeling of it lingered.

"Did I- , I-I mean did you... did you kill them?" I sputter out.

"I did what I had to" he surmises.

I gulp, my throat feeling extremely dry. I slowly get up, walking to my bag and opening it up, grabbing a water bottle. I twist off the cap and gulp more than half of it down.

I take a deep breath after, putting the cap back on the bottle.

Pennywise stands back up, looking to me.

"How about we take a walk."
