The Udakus

One Year Later
The outreach center has officially opened in Oakland for a month now. Erik and Lena have worked hard organizing and planning everything with T'Challa's help.

Shuri arrived by the ship and headed inside. Lena is holding Sariah's hand as she is walking and Sariah sees Shuri walking down the hallway.

She lets go of Lena's hand as she runs with her little legs going to her "Shu Shu!"

Lena watches her daughter trying to run as she laughs and Erik walks out of the office seeing what Lena was looking at and puts his arm around her waist
"Our baby girl..she is growing up so fast"
"She is..we have to get her birthday party set up for this weekend"
"I know baby we will since the center is open now and we have hired people we can have family time now"
"Sounds good it has been a challenge"
"Lena Udaku admitting she was challenged?"
"Hey it was..now we get a chance to breathe for once"
"For a moment.."
Erik pecks her forehead as they walk to Shuri holding Sariah in her arms. "Hello cousins.. Erik how's everything so far?"
"Good it was overwhelming at first but I'm getting the hang of being in charge"
"Good to hear.. I'm actually here to teach today with the teenagers so I will be heading to the classroom so I'll see you later"

Shuri puts Sariah down as she walks to Erik and he picks her up. "Hey Riah..wanna hang out with daddy for a bit?" Sariah looks at Erik and grins giving him kisses on his cheek
"I guess that means yes"
Lena shook her head and started walking
"Baby you spending time with us?"
"I have a couple things to do right quick and I'll be in the office okay?"
"Okay"

Lena heads in her office as she organizes all the paperwork for the center. She drops a few
student folders and looks at them. She looks at a twelve year old boys profile picture and was reading his record.
"Jamal Young , age twelve lives with foster parents, biological parents deceased, robbery charges (three counts) and fighting in school with another student (suspension). Lena shakes her head and sees he is assigned in Shuris class that she is doing now.

Lena walks to the classroom and  walks inside "I'm sorry Princess Shuri, I'm just checking in on the class to see how everything is going"
"It's doing great Princess Lena.."
One teenager asked Lena "You a princess of Wakanda too?"
"Yes I am"
"So you are married to Prince N'Jadaka also known as Killmonger"
"Yes"
"Cool wait a minute.. you're Madam Slay?"
"That is correct what's your name?"
"Jamal.. Jamal Young"
"It's nice to meet you Jamal..you can call me Lena"
"Okay Ms. Lena"
"Princess Shuri, can I talk to you outside for a second please?"
"Sure.. kids go ahead and review our lesson and we will have a discussion when I get back"

Lena and Shuri walk outside the door "Shuri.. I was going through the students files and one of them in your class Jamal.. how is he in class?"
"He's a excellent student.. he participates, very quiet, gets along with others.. what's wrong?"
"I was just reading his record.. he reminds me so much of Erik in a foster home, no parents, had a fight in his school, and robbed  places three times .. I don't see him doing something like that"
"No he's a good student"
"I'm gonna talk to Erik about him maybe we will take him under our wing like a mentor or something"
"You can try.. these kids need all the help they can get"
"I know.. as much help as possible.. but I'll let you finish your class I'll see ya"
"See ya Lena"
