If you want to attract more readers you must grow as a writer. Here are some tips:
~ Find a critique partner or group that challenges you.
There are plenty of book clubs on Wattpad all you have to do is apply and do your part of course. It's a circle of read for read so no one gets left out.
~ Remind yourself that not everyone will like your work.
This could be because of the genre, the style, or the plot. You could write a great story with a twist on cliches but not everyone will like it.
~ Remind yourself that most of the time when someone doesn't like your work, the dislike isn't personal.
It isn't personal if they say it isn't they point out the flaws and what they didn't enjoy reading in your story.
~ When someone doesn't like your work and it is personal, remind yourself you don't have to write something to please that person.
One bad critique isn't the end of your life. (in writing, anyway) You are never going to please every reader that comes along so get that out of your head right now.

A way to find readers:
First, you must find the people that enjoy reading the genre of your book. The easiest ways are contests and book clubs, so let's skip to other ways.
A couple of ways to do that are by using the hashtags, searching the WP forums, and simply asking.
What I mean by hashtags: the tags that you use for your book so people can find them when they search for something specific in a certain genre. Well, it works both ways, you can use those tags to find other books that have something similar to yours. Then search for the people who left positive comments in those books and politely ask them if they would like to read your book. Be nice, and don't get upset if they decline.
The Wattpad community forums are there for a reason. I didn't know a year ago what they were or how they worked but I slowly found my way in and you can too. There is a category called "Share Your Story" and it's super easy to post your book's link, a quick summary and the cover of your book in the right genre thread. From there you can go to the specific category called "Story Requests," there you can see all the people that are looking for books to read. You can recommend your book to them, as long as it is what type they specified in their thread.
Once you found those readers you don't want them to lose interest and leave. here are a couple of ways to keep your readers:
Acknowledge follows. When someone follows you, let them know how much you appreciate it.
If they are also writers, read their work. Get an idea of what they like, and tell them what you like about their work.
Engage in conversation, ask for advice. Respond to comments and suggestions on your work and story.
Stay active on WP. Try to post new chapters each week or maintain a regular posting schedule.
If you have more than one account on social media try to combine them. Promote your WP on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Last but not least, my favorite way, end on a cliffhanger. Keep your readers guessing.
