Ria's POV
Dream
Caleb and I were walking through the park late at night. It was really dark, so we could barely see where we were going. As we walked, I kept thinking of the article about the recent killings, and the teenage suspect. Could a 16 year old really be the cause of so many deaths?
"Ria? Are you ok?" I didn't notice Caleb talking to me until now. "Yeah, I'm fine...Just thinking."
We continued to walk along the grassy park, not speaking at all. We stepped onto the sidewalk, and immediately saw a strange figure where the sidewalk met the street. "Do you see it, too, Caleb?" Maybe I'm just seeing things...
I turned away from the figure to look at Caleb, only to see him lying on the ground with a slit throat. I looked back up towards the figure which was only a few feet away now. I couldn't see any features, other than his white hoodie and black pants. Although, his white hoodie was stained with...blood?
"You're the kid! The one who everyone is on the lookout for! Jeff, right?" I asked, alarmed. As I said this, he took small steps toward me. He took something out of his pocket and raised it just enough for me to see what it was; a knife.
I turned to run away, finding him in front of me once again. I ran passed him trying to escape this crazy killer.
"Don't try to run. We both know there's no escaping this. Don't waste your last breath running from something you can't escape," he said as I backed away from him. I turned once again, tripping over the curb. Jeff jumped on top of me, pinning me down and held the sharp knife up to my throat.
"Why don't you make this easy on us all and...Go to sleep!" he said in a loud whisper. He was pressing the knife down deeper and deeper when I heard the thump, then a door open.
Ria's POV
I woke up to the thump and door opening I heard in my dream. I was sweaty and shaking from the crazy thrill of my dream. That probably wasn't the best first night here, I thought. I was still hooked up on the sight of Caleb and his slit throat. I started to cry at the thought of it. I looked up at Caleb, thankful it was just a dream.
I slipped out of his arms and went to get a glass of water. Maybe I can talk to Chloe. She would understand. She has dreams worse. I walked down the hallway half asleep, and into the kitchen. As I was drinking the water, I suddenly heard sirens out by where the park was.
"Where'd you go? I got woken up by the stupid sirens, and you weren't with me," I flinched when he started talking. "Sorry, I was, uh, just thirsty. I guess I'll have to get used to the new house." I took one last glance through the kitchen window at the sirens, then headed back to bed with Caleb.
"Um, I'll be right back. I'm going to check on Chloe." I got up again, and went off towards Chloe's room. I opened her door and found that there was no one there. I thought of the sirens from the park; Chloe.
Ugh, I can't believe it! The first night here, and she wants to just cause trouble? Well, that sounds like her. Haha, and her and I both.
I decided to go back to bed. When I wake up, Chloe will be there, and maybe we can explore the woods or something.
I snuggled next to Caleb, and he whispered something in my ear, though I didn't hear. I felt him put his arms around me, and I drifted asleep.
