Do I have to spell it out for you or scream it in your face? The chemistry between us could destroy this place!

I was working late at the lab mixing chemicals and recording there properties. I hated working with people, it just wasted time and made forceful unwanted conversations.

I finally finished working locked the lab and was heading to my car when I heard footsteps behind me. I was certain everyone had left the lab and hurried my pace.

"Bæ why are you walking away from me?" Came a deep male voice.

I turned around to find my colleague, Ray leaning against the building and staring into my soul.

" Ray what you doing here?" I asked

" Laurie I was just checking on you seeing how you were. I mean what is it with you and working this late? Doesn't your boss what is his name, Mr. Johnson know any better! I can talk to him if you would like?" He mumbled all at once.

" No don't worry about it he knows. I just like to keep myself busy you know. Anyway Ray what are you doing here didn't you leave work pretty early today?" I pressured.

" Like I said I was just checking on you." He replied with a sinister smile. I couldn't help but feel as if it was more than that, he was hiding something and I would find out.

" You hungry because I brought burritos for you made from myself. I observe that you haven't been eating very well, staying up till late, waking up early, and not drinking enough milk." He accused.

" I have been very preoccupied lately but thanks." I said taking the burrito from his hands and taking a large bite. " How do you know so much about me Ray?"

" You look skinny for one Laurie. You have dark circles around your eyes. Being the first one at work means you have to wake up pretty early, and having white dots in your nails hints to not enough calcium in your body. Do you need a ride home Laurie? My truck is right over there." He said pointing to a 2014 Chevy Silverado.

" You could qualify as my personal stalker. As for the ride its fine Ray honestly my apartment's just a couple of blocks down the street."

" No, no, no come on Laurie I want to discuss something with you important anyway."

"Fine." I sighed.

As I got into his truck I noticed a bouquet of flowers in the back.

" Whats that for?" I asked pointing to the flowers.

" It's not what but a who." He replied.

" Who's it for?" I corrected wondering if he had a girlfriend.

" Its for a really sweat woman who loves chemistry and lives not so far from here." He responded turning on the engine and reversing the car.

" What's her name?" I asked still curious.

" Her name is Laurette Alice McComb." He smirked.

"Whattt" I stuttered,"why would you bring flowers to me and how in the world do you know my full name? "

" I wanted to ask you if you would like to go out with me like on a real date? And I know your real name because a lover always pays attention right?" He smiled showing his perfect white teeth.

"I would love to go on a date with you Ray!"
