No matter how attractive a person's potential is you have to date their reality.
The next morning I woke up to a wonderful feeling. I glanced at the clock.
"Oh my!" I exclaimed. I was sure gonna be late. I never over slept. As I got out of bed I smelled an aroma in the air. It was like someone was cooking in my apartment. I turned the corner slowly aware of the lights on.
"Mornin!" Said Ray.
"What are you doing in my house? How did you get in? Why are you here this early?" I mumbled astonished at my date being at my house without my knowing.
"Oh calm down honey I just wanted to make you some breakfast. I um well took a day off for both of us then let you sleep in. Trust me Laurie you need today."
"Ray its a very sweat surprise, but seriously how did get in?"
"I got in through the front door like everybody else my love."
"Did I leave it unlocked?" I asked with a worried glance at the door.
"No actually I found your spare key." Ray sighed eyeing me suspiciously.
"Um ok." I was still worried about how he knew where I kept my spare key. I was beginning to feel as of he was the overprotective type of guy. I mean he was handsome but honestly I hated overprotective guys. "So where are we going today?"
"It's a surprise of course! What kinda boyfriend doesn't make the first place a surprise?" He questioned amused.
"Fine then when will we leave and what would you recommend me to wear?" I asked.
"We will leave at around noon. Where something casual outdoors type you know." He replied. Ring Ring. He glanced at his cellphone then picked it up. He said a lot of yeps and I sees. As he shut the phone he smiled a bit then abruptly said "My love their has been a change of plans after I make a few phone calls we shall be ready to go. Pack about a months worth of close remember you can always launder them. Pack everyday essentials such as your toothbrush. And where we are going I would take ah never mind that should be enough."
"A month!" I exclaimed. " Mr. Johnson would never approve I would be needed at the lab."
"Yeah about that I will arrange for you to work online. I should be able to get you in a lab with all your materials while we are uh traveling. Oh and a I'll need your passport." Said Ray with a casual tone.
"We are going out of the country for a first date? What do you plan on doing, kidnapping me? How the hell do you expect me to just hand over my password Ray?" I practically yelled at him.
"Fine you know what if the truth is what you want then the truth is what you'll get. I really really love you Laurie. I have had a crush on you since the day I met you. I tried to get you out of my mind but you kept on interrupting my thoughts. I was originally planning to take you to Spencer Park for you know kind of a hike and a picnic but I just got this phone call from my great aunt's attorney. She died a week ago and they have been trying to find out exactly who would get the inheritance of her large estate." He paused, " they narrowed it down to me..."
"I am so very very sorry Ray!" I exclaimed with pure sympathy.
"Ha I hardly knew her. But still I should go to her funeral I guess." He snorted.
"Where exactly does your great aunt live Ray?"
"She lives in Britain."
