Lucas was in line at the mutants services office, all around him were mutants who were probably waiting days to receive the service they needed. They turned their heads else whither, he shuddered. Lucas had a bad feeling about today, a really bad feeling. He noticed that the one guard cocked his pistol, narrowing his eyes he glances back at Thea, "Deres vakt for høyt, noe er ikke riktig." (Their guard is too high, something isn't right.)
She spoke English this time, "Don't worry child, and try not to speak our language, we're only allowed to speak English here". Just after she said that Lucas saw someone be dragged in, registered, then shot in the head. The guard who shot him took off his helmet, "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU RUN FROM REGISTRATION". Lucas felt a pang of fear, if they caught him before he came, he would be beside that man in the grave. Lucas felt sick, "I have to use the washroom". He left after Thea granted him permission, headed to the bathrooms he felt a hand on his mouth and he was dragged into a broom closet. He turned around and was face to face with a guard who removed his mask. His face was scarred and he was blind in one eye, "You've got balls kid, I'll give you that. However, you're more retarded than a Goldfish".
Lucas couldn't believe it, the guard was treating him, human? "Who are you? What do you want?". The guard rolls his eyes "Careful kid, if I was a regular guard I'd have shot you in the head with that mouth. Did the Norwegians teach you anything?". He knew about the Norwegians, he's been watching Lucas for a long time. Lucas didn't let on that he made this connection "You're not a regular guard though". The guard's expression doesn't change, "Get into the habit. The name's Donovan Isiah, call me Donovan for all I care. Don't call me Donny or I'll slit your throat. I'm here to help". Confusion was evident on Lucas' face, "Help? Help with what?". The guard narrows his eyes, "How stupid are you? You think you can just waltz in here without punishment? Don't just register, prove to the government that you can be an asset". The guard walked away without another word, Lucas didn't feel sick anymore, he was worried.

He had to walk into the room alone, Thea was outside of the door.
The man at the desk was dressed in a simple coat and tie, "So, the deviant who ran and came back? I have something for you". Lucas got concerned but he chose not to say anything, the man stepped out of the room and came back, placing a box in front of Lucas, "Go ahead, open it". Lucas opened the box and was horrified at what he saw, it was a set of hands, his mother's hands. The box was shoved into his chest, "Thought you'd want that back." The man laughed, "Now give me your hand". Lucas obeyed, angry at the man at the desk. A bracelet was clamped onto his wrist, "Normally, we do the whole blood thing, but, you're a special case, we don't want you running again". A guard came to drag Lucas out of the room, but Lucas was focused on one thing, the name tag on the man's desk 'Frederick Collins'. Lucas remembered that name, it was now burnt in his mind, deeper than the scars of the past.
Outside of the room he wrapped up her hands in a hankie, so he could burn them once he got back. In his peripheral vision he saw Donovan, life wasn't going to go how Thea and Mathius thought it was going to go.

Morris walked up to Jace, Jace knew he was going to get beat up anyway and he was feeling sassy, he turned to Morris, "To quote MacBeth, Act 4, scene 2, line 94. What, you egg?". Instead of punching Jace, Morris sat beside him. Jace was confused, "You know, that one kid who ran? I just got word he's going to be attending school here". That one kid from the car, Lucas, Jace recalled. Jace was more Flabbergasted by the fact that Morris was just casually talking to him, "Why are you telling me this?". Morris sighed, "Probably because I just want to have a casual conversation without being screamed at by the baboons I call my friends". Jace looked over to Morris' regular crowd to see them eating fire-ants. Jace blinks, "I can see why." Morris stands up, "This was a bad idea, this conversation didn't happen" He walked away, leaving Jace confused as fuck.

In the woods, a few miles away from Mathius and Thea's cabin, Donovan Isiah broods.
"Are you sure that now's the time?" Said the voice behind him, Donovan didn't turn around, "It is, the world will never be the same". The voice behind him only said, "Good."
