Ira Alabaster is trapped. Trapped by four concrete walls, and trapped by an organization she's not even sure she supports.
Ira volunteered to be experimented on by Hydra. After she gains new abilities, two new volunteers join. The Maximoff twins. The three form a friendship, and the new recruits help Ira remember why she joined in the first place: to help save her country.
After a ruthless new recruit joins, and their Hydra base is attacked, the Enhanced find themselves at the church in the center of the city. This is where they meet Ultron, the genocidal A.I created by Tony Stark with one goal: destroy the Avengers and create world peace. Ira is torn between the people she sees as her family, and what she knows is right. But after being betrayed by Ultron, the Enhanced form a tentative alliance with the Avengers to save the world.
