"Does everyone know the plan?" Steve asked, looking over everyone sitting in the Quinjet. They all nodded.
"Clint, Ira, and I will infiltrate the base, do some recon, get the information, then leave. We've all heard the plan five times," Tony told them.
"I just want to make sure," Steve replied. "Now the base is smaller, but still, be cautious." They nodded.
"We're nearing the drop point," Natasha turned and called from the front seat. Clint left the copilot seat, and stood next to Tony and Ira. The hangar opened, and cool air rushed in. Ira's hair whipped across her face, and she hurriedly brushed it away.
Clint grabbed a parachute, while Ira opted not to. "Be careful," Steve yelled over the rushing wind. Tony smirked, and gave a mock salute, before jumping out of the jet. She peered down after him, and saw that he was now wearing his armor, and flying safely to the ground.
"After you," Clint said to Ira, and she walked to the edge of the hangar. She smiled at him, and leapt off. The wind rushed past her ears as she plummeted towards the ground. She tucked her arms close to her sides, and when she was about one hundred yards from the ground, she blasted energy from her hands to slow her fall. She lowered to the ground, and touched down safely.
They were standing at the edge of a forest, looking out into a clearing. A HYDRA base sat in the middle of the field, looking rather small and un-intimidating. It was a simple two-story building that sprawled over the field. There seemed to be not very many guards or cameras outside, but Ira knew it could be a trap. As she was studying he base, Clint softly landed on the ground next to her, and unlatched his parachute. "What's the plan?" He asked them.
"Ira, you take out the guards at the main entrance," he instructed, and the blonde nodded. "Clint, you go around back and get rid of any guards back there. I'll fly above and get a reading on the building. Maybe tell where they're keeping the intel." They broke off, Tony flying overhead to scan the base, Clint running through the forest to reach the back, and Ira heading for the entrance.
She sprinted through the field, lighting both her hands with glowing blue energy. He threw two guards in the air, slamming them into the third. They all fell to the ground, and Ira strolled past.
She broke down the door, and walked through, expecting to find a soldiers eating. But there was no one. "Clint, there's no one at the front entrance, they could be headed to the back," she warned him.
"Copy," he replied. Ira was about to step forward when she felt a blade press up against her throat. She stopped, and turned her head slightly to see a man holding a knife to her throat.
"Where are the others?" He hissed.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," she told him, gritting her teeth. The man laughed.
"I think you've underestimated me. I'm not playing games." He pressed the knife deeper, and Ira could feel a cut forming. She clenched her jaw, and slowly let energy flow into her hand so the man wouldn't notice. She then slammed it into her chest, so that it went through her, knocking him back. He dropped the knife, and as it fell through the air, Ira caught it, spun around, and stabbed it quickly into his chest.
"I think you've been correctly estimated," the blonde told him as she walked away. She continued down the hall, quickly healing the cut along the way. She wandered warily through the empty halls, finding no trace of anyone.
"Ira, the archives are up ahead. Clint is heading there too," Tony informed her. "I'm just coming in now."
"Got it," she replied. She headed to the room, and met up with Clint along the way.
