(Jack's POV)
I've been hiding out at the Enchanted Lake for 6 months now. Yup. One of the few magical places here in Auradon. I stayed invisible, living in the small cave.
With the Enchanted Mirror and Enchanted Book, I was able to spy on Auradon and get supplies. Every day I ordered the mirror to show me what was going on in the castles, the government, and everything they are trying to hide.
The Enchanted Book allowed me to travel. Usually I'd order it to teleport me to a grocery store after it closed at night. I'd only take what wouldn't be missed.
Mal it seemed was hunting for me and Ben was doubling the Auradon Guards. That will not go unpunished.
After breakfast, I take out the mirror. "Show me the most relevant royal meeting happening right now."
The mirror flashed in my face. It showed Beast, Belle, Fairy Godmother, Mal, and Ben having a serious conversation.
"Every time we open the barrier, we're exposed to danger. We can't risk having another villain escape." King Beast told Ben and Mal. Both Belle and Fairy Godmother nodded.
How dare they...
"Mal, what should we do?" Belle asks.
Why are they asking her!?
"I think the only possible way to protect Auradon is to close the barrier for good."
"WHAT!?!" I screamed aloud. Did she just say that?
"And there can't be anymore going in and out."
Is she serious!?
The rest of the conversation was Ben's half-hearted attempts to not close it. But, of course, ALWAYS protect Auradon! That's what really matters!
Not on my watch.
I travel to Auradon Prep, invisible as always. There's going to be some big gathering for a reason.
Then, as I arrive, I see or rather hear Ben finish a lovey-dovey song to Mal in front of him.
What's going on?
Ben gets down on his knees. Oh. That's why.
Mal looks ecstatic. That selfish, treasonous witch! Enjoying her life, pretending she didn't just ruin a whole island's worth of lives not long ago.
