I'm one of those people with a massive OCD towards books. I find it hard to live with covers that aren't matching the rest of the series.
I need to swap that Divergent cover for the original version rather than the movie version, but the movie one is creased so I'm gonna have to sell it and/or give it away and buy the original version. I can't stand that cover anymore.
I ended up getting the newer covers of Skulduggery Pleasant because they're easier to find. It makes me feel like a weeaboo, but it's too late to change over now. I can live with being a weeaboo. Non-matching book covers, however? A crime against humanity.
I'm so happy I got the full trilogy of The Maze Runner in a box set. I may have made the mistake I made with Divergent (shown above), otherwise. That would've been horrible.
The solution to non-matching book covers is for people to stop making newer versions. I don't care if it became a movie, I might accidentally buy the wrong cover. Stop setting off my OCD and just sell the same damn covers!
UPDATE:
I was offered the whole Skulduggery Pleasant set. I couldn't bring myself to buy it because the covers didn't match. Do you feel my pain yet?
