I woke up with a throbbing headache and a piercing sensitivity to the light outside. I could barely remember what happened the other night. I knew that I was at a party and that I drank and also had something traumatic happen but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I called Keisha to see what happened and she just laughed and said I got really drunk.
I looked pulled the covers off my leg and saw a huge bite mark. What the heck? And this is why I try not to drink alcohol. I took a shower to rinse off and tried to string together my memories. As the warm shower water hit me, I could sort of see some stuff. I knew I talked to Jaxon a lot that night and got lost in the woods but what else? I also remembered it was a full moon that night not that would really matter though.
I decided to just figure out it later and got ready for the day. As I walked through the beautiful forest to the library I suddenly had a flashback. I could remember five frat boys chanting in Latin with Carl dead on a stretcher. Was this real? No way. Was my mind playing tricks. I continued to walk until I got to the library and sat down. Some people looked at me strangely and I didn't know why, but most of the people minded their own business. I mean people get drunk in college and apparently it's not that big of deal unless you didn't choose to drink.
Studying the cell membrane wasn't as fun as it used to be. I had a terrible headache that did not want to repeat this material. After about 45 minutes, I was ready to take a break. I got up to walk back to my dorm room for a tiny break of Netflix when I realized a note on my table. How did it get there, I thought. Maybe I was so focused on studying I didn't see anyone place it there.
It was a small beige paper that said meet us at the full moon in the forest tonight near Barton Lake at 6:40 pm. Okay what now? Is this some kind of prank? I took the sticky note and headed home. As I headed home through the woods my phone rang, it said Kiesha. "Hey girl want to apply for a job with me?," spoke Keisha pepped up. "Sure when?," I asked knowing we would both need the money and experience. "Like in 45 minutes," she said knowing that would scare me. "Wait what?," I asked surprised.
"Don't worry I already signed us both up. All we need to do is just interview. I can pick you up in 15 minutes," she said trying to assure me. Well you know sometimes you just got to take the opportunities you can. When I got to the dorm I quickly put on something a little nicer perhaps jeans and a fancy top with flats. I got my wallet and ran straight to the parking lot.
When I got to the car, I was out of breath. I closed the door and we drove off. "So what's the job going to be?," I asked eagerly. "We're going to work at Hooters!," she exclaimed. "Oh heck no you better not be serious," I replied taken back. "I'm joking. There's a little restaurant called Barton Lake's Grill and we can be waitresses," she said trying to relive me. "Okay that's better. Don't scare me like that," I laughed.
When we got in there it smelled like a typical restaurant and was very artsy with lots of blue. There was a tiny bar and a patio outside near the lake and forest. It seemed like a great place to work and the employees were pretty helpful. Once we interviewed with the manager, we immediately figured out we got the job. It was an easy going, family passed down restaurant.
Later that day I started thinking about the night before and my head ache had finally started to subside. I went to go look at my phone for a picture of osmosis when I saw a 12 minute video that I didn't remember taking. I clicked on it and was shocked. So many weird things were revealed to me. I couldn't believe what happened. I was terrified I witnessed a murder and not any murder a vampire murder and then I realized I was bit by a werewolf. My heart started to race and my palms became sweaty.
Was this meeting tonight related to this? Maybe I should go, I thought. What could this all possibly mean. At 6:00 pm I packed for this strange meeting and brought pepper spray, one pocket knife, a flashlight, a bottle of water, and for some reason the Bible. Who knows maybe God could help? At 6:36 pm, I pulled up to the Lake as the sun went down. I was close by the restaurant and did not know where to go. The lake was eerie and foggy and I started feel weird like my whole body was tingling.
