Elena's POV

I parked my car at the parking lot of the mall, got down and helped Jay out of her booster.

We walked into the mall hand in hand. I was starting to get hungry. Jada's probably hungry too.

"Are you hungry, sweetie?" I ask and she nods. "What would you like to eat?" I question looking down at her. She looks up at me and gave me a toothy grin.

" Ice cream mummy." She answered sweetly. I knew this was coming.

"No ice cream for you sweetie. You have to eat real food first and then we'll talk about ice cream." I stated firmly. Her eating habits scare me sometimes.

All she wants to eat are chocolate and ice cream. Guess she got the sweet tooth from her dad. I smile thinking about Henry. That man ate more ice cream than a pregnant woman with an ice cream craving. I miss him so much.

Before we got married, he was my best friend and now I can't have my best friend back. I sigh and walk into McDonald's with Jada.

We find a booth in the corner and we sit down.

"Welcome to Burganic, may I please take your orders?" A waitress with a really heavy African accent asked nicely.

I look up and gasp "Nana Yaa!! Is that you?"

She looks slightly confused for a minute before gasping too. "Lena? Oh my God. Oh my God!!"

"What are you doing here? Where's Kofi?" I ask as a feeling of nostalgia hit me. I haven't seen her in years. We were inseparable back then. She was like a sister to me and Henry. And her brother Kofi had like a crush on me. He was such a clown. Oh my God.

"He's fine. Can you believe he's married with 2 kids?" She says grinning.

" No way! Really? I never thought that 'The Kofi' would ever get married." I say amused. If you told me years back that Kofi would get married I would've thought that you lost it.

"Mummy, when will our food get here. I want to eat fast cause I want my ice cream." She pouted.

"Is this who I think it is?" Nana Yaa asked.

"Yes, it is."

"The last time I saw you, you were in your mother's belly." She said bending over to touch Jada's cheeks and she giggled.

"Jay, this is Auntie Yaa. She and I used to be close when we were younger way before you were born." I say with a huge smile on my face.

"Hello, Auntie. Nice to meet you. I'm Jada." She said with a little wave.

"She's so beautiful. She looks just like Henry." she said admiring Jada.

I tense up and give her a signal not to speak of Henry. I look at Jada who pretended not to have heard what she just said.

"Mɛmbɔ ni din wɔ me ba n'anim!!"
( Don't mention his name in my child's presence.)

She looks at me with a frown and asks. "Adɛn na yɛ ka Twi??" ( Why are we speaking Twi?)

I look at Jada who looks like she's playing on her tablet but I know better. She's trying to figure out what we're saying. I taught her how to speak the language but she doesn't understand it fully.

She understands some words and so far she can only say thank you and how are you? Just the basics. And right now I'm super glad she doesn't understand a word of what we're discussing.

"When will your shift be over?" She turned around to look at the wall clock behind her and said

"My shift will be over in an hour."

"Perfect. I'll come back here after Jada and I go to the salon but first, our food." I said with a smile an give her our orders and she left.

Steve's POV

Two months. Two fucking months and I haven't heard anything from Lena. She hadn't tried to come to see me.

'And whose fault is that?' I thought

I miss her so much. I miss her smile, her smell, her eyes, her body, I just miss her and Jada?

Fuck, I've been an ASSHOLE to my little girl.

'You think?'

She wasn't genetically mine, but I considered her mine from the moment I set eyes on her. They probably hate me now.

'You brought this to yourself' My subconscious mused

I love them so fucking much. Being locked up in here made me realize that I can't live without Lena.

'Then why do you treat her the way you do. Why do you hit her? Why?'

'Cause she deserved it. She fucking disobeyed me.'

'And now she fucking hates your ass. She'll definitely want a divorce.'

'No she wouldn't, she fucking loves me.'

'Not after everything you've done to her. She doesn't!!'

'She's probably seeing someone else. Someone better than you. Someone who wouldn't use her as a punching bag every time shit goes wrong in your family or in the company.'

' You've been in here for two pathetic months. Do you think she would wait for you? She hasn't even come to visit you.'

I'm an idiot. Fuck!! I get up and pace up and down. My thoughts are eating me up. What's wrong with me?

I won't let Lena leave me. She'd have to kill me first. I'm going to make sure she fears me when I'm out f here. I'll teach her a lesson she won't forget.

'Be careful how you think. Remember she's expecting your child. Your first child with her. Isn't that what you've always wanted?'

'I don't even know if that thing in her womb is mine.'

'Who else do you think she's pregnant for. You don't even let her go out to socialize. You don't let her speak to anyone. Not even her own family. The baby's yours and you're not even present to watch he/she grow inside her.'

"Ahhhhhh" I wail out loud scattering the pillow and bedsheet on my bed.

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!!" I scream at the voices in my head which are becoming way too loud. I run my hands on my face and groan out angrily.

"She loves me, she loves me, she loves ME!!" I yell out kicking the metal bars in my cell.

"Shut the fuck up you ugly piece of shit. Some of us are trying to sleep."
One of the prisoners in another cell shouted angrily.

I swallow hard and sit on my pitiful excuse of a bed.

" I'll get out of here Lena and when I do, I'll make you pay for every fucking second spent in here. I'll have you at my mercy. I'll make you curse the day you ever met me." I muttered and slept while smirking. Revenge is gonna be served hot and sweet.
