As the Devilsaur's fangs clamped down on Panelli's body he closed his eyes as to alleviate the upcoming pain the best he could. He tensed every muscle on his body bracing for the pain he would have to endure, the pain of having to die all over again. As the Devilsaur crunched his body Panelli felt no pain, as if his senses were completely nullified. He opened his eyes to see if he had died instantly, but he was very much alive. As he gazed down at his expectedly mauled body he saw no damage, but the little cretin was still trying to gobble down Panelli as if he were a piece of steak. Panelli looked back at Elise to see if she was seeing what he was seeing too. Elise had sweat running down her face and here eyes were wide open in disbelief at what she was seeing.
"Panelli! Strike him now while you have the chance! You have been blessed with the powers of the light!"
Panelli had no idea what those words meant, but he surely knew one thing, it was time to fight. He tensed up his fist and let it loose way behind his back as to rev up his next blow. Panelli sent his punch flying through the sky until it hit its target right on the upper jaw. As he first impacted the creature his strength felt like it had increased monumentally. He felt like he was a warrior from the movie 300, rather, like if Elise was his 300 and her necessity of help in this time of desperate need gave him the power of 300 warriors. His raging fist catched ablaze and emanated a vivid orange glow. The force of the punch weighed on the Devilsaur violently and in a fraction of a second both his fist and the monster's face had met the ground very unceremoniously. Its death was instant. The corpse of the creature turned grey and slowly cracked as if it were made of the same proteins an egg shell was made. The cracks ran their way quickly through the cadaver until it had no space to crack further and fell apart completely. The pieces that shattered flew into the wind and disintegrated immediately leaving no trace behind of the animal.
"Very well done explorer, I expected nothing less from a future member of the League of Explorers"
Panelli's face was one of both confusion and shock. What just had happened still had his mind quaking and Elise's words didn't make it any better.
"From what I can tell you have an affinity for magic explorer, you have acquired the ashes of Tirion Fordring, one of the mightiest Paladins to ever roam Azeroth."
That name. That name brought memories to Panelli's mind but he couldn't discern whether they were ones of joy or ones of impending misery.
"Emm, dis Tirion Fordrin guy... who is he?"
Panelli asked as he was still partially oblivious of what that name truly meant for him.
"Tirion was one of Azeroth's strongest, fiercest and most valiant paladins. He stood for what he believed in until the very end and this sturdy resolve gave path to his full acceptance by The Light. He passed away fighting for that which he believed in and left three things for the world to bask in: The remains of his undying glory, his mighty blade, the Ashbringer and the ashes of Tirion, wisps of his remaining fortitude that linger around Azeroth waiting to be claimed. I believe YOU have obtained one of these fabled wisps of Fordring."
Panelli still had more questions than answers but figured he was pleased with what he had heard so far. On their short way back to the camp the two talked about various points surrounding Tirion, The Light and what being a Paladin meant.
The essence of the conversation was the following. Tirion Fordring was one of the greatest Paladins, one of the nine holy classes of Azeroth, that had ever lived. At the moment of his passing he passed on his paladin magic onwards for Azeroth as a whole could enjoy. These sparks that remained from the mighty crusader had passed on to Panelli as he was deemed righteous enough to sacrifice his life for that of a mere stranger he had no knowledge about. It was very courageous for him to stand up for her knowing he possessed no powers like she did. Panelli's blessings came from an omnipresent energy called The Light. The Light fuels the majority of healing and protection magic, an essence wielded by both priests and paladins alike. The Light had chosen Panelli to be its the rightful wielder, opening the path for his flourishing magical career. Now with the title of paladin Panelli had a much heftier responsibility ahead of him, he had to stand up for those who couldn't even in the most trying of times. This was the mission of a paladin, and one Panelli accepted wholeheartedly.
