I thought about it hard, the color I wanted to play. "... I wanna play the Red color." I said finally. Leo nodded. Daiki had wondered over to where we were, curious on what we were doing. "Daiki, will you get me the red box?" Leo asked. Daiki figured out that I was building my first deck and smiled sweetly. "Yes." He nodded. He walked off and went behind the counter, and went searching something called the red box. He made an, "ah ha" sound and came back with a big white box with its lid barley over it. "I can't wait to see what deck you make with it." He said. He walked off to watch some games going on. Leo grabbed a lot of cards out of the box and started to flick through them and looked at a few for a moment before going to the next. "I think we might want to make you an aggro burn deck." Leo said looking at me. I looked at him with a confused look, I guess sometime he forgot I was a new player. "An aggro deck is a deck that is aggressive and is made to hit with large and powerful creatures and spells. A burn deck is a deck that has a lot of low cost creatures and spells, making them easier to use in the early game." Leo explained. I nodded understanding it all.

"So a red aggro burn deck is a deck that has a lot of low cost cards that can deal a lot of damage." I said. Leo nodded. "Your learning fast." He said. I blushed at the comment. I found that whenever I looked back on Leo and all he did with me, I blushed. Almost all the comments he makes about me make me blush a bit. I looked him and pressed my lips together. He can be such an idiot as well. I got a haircut, though it wasn't a major change, and he didn't even seem to notice it. I went and actually did my hair and he didn't even notice. He picked a card out the pile and placed it down. A woman wearing a weird gantlet with a shock coming out of it , called Shock. It was a one drop that did two damage to any opponent. He continued to flip through the cards and picked a few out of the stack. He pulled 3 more shocks out. He pulled 4 copies of a card called Guttersnipe that was a goblin shaman, 2/2, and said that when when you cast an instant or sorcery then it dealt 2 damage to each opponent.  It was a goblin that had 2 ear hoops on his goblin ear and a tuff of white hair on top of his head, with a slingshot ready to fire a ball of a reddish-orange thing. He was finally through the first stack and started to flip through another one he had grabbed from the box. I sat there quietly. "I like your hair." Leo said. I looked at him with shock. He did notice it, he noticed it. I smiled and blushed a little more. Wait, why was I blushing? I mean, sure, Leo was pretty nice. He did off a vibe that totally said he didn't really like having to do things he didn't like to do and would punch someone over it, but he still was kind and nice. He was good looking as well, so that was a plus I guess. But I couldn't have a crush on him, surly not. I had just met him like, 3 days ago or so. I wasn't the kind of person who believed in love at first sight either, I just found it impossible that you could met someone and then instantly be ready to settle down with them. But still, I was flushed red when I thought about Leo and when I heard his voice in my mind and in real life. Honestly, even though I only knew him for 3 days, I felt like I had known him since we were children. I was staring at him, and when he pointed it out and it actually reached me, I grew a shade of red so deep I must have looked like a living tomato. I looked at the table, still thinking about his comment about my hair and started to touch it. The table now had more cards all in stacks of the same card, a card called Precision bolt, another called Slaying Fire, and another creature called Electrostatic Field, all of them in pairs of 4's. He kept looking through stacks of cards, taking out pair of 4 of the same cards outs. A card called Lightning strike was then pulled out as well, and then he pulled out about 22 mountains and put them off to the side. Another stack of cards in fours called Skewer the Critics, 4 copies of Syr Carah the Bold, 4 copies of Jaya's Greeting, and finally 4 pairs of a card called Jaya, Venerated Firemage. I had done research on Magic on the days I hadn't been to the shop and learned about the different card types. So him pulling out a planeswalkers would have made me go, "What's that?!" had I not done research. He must have figured that out because he didn't comment on the fact I wasn't surprised at it. He put the rest of the cards back into the deck. He laid the cards out in the way he did with his deck and show me the mana curve. Most of the cards were in the 2 drop zone, with some being in the 3 drop. Very few were in any zone higher then that. I got up and walked behind Leo, tucked my hair back, and leaned over Leo's shoulder. I looked at the cards and started to see how the deck worked. The cards outright with all the spells could cause a lot of damage, but matched with Guttersnipe, Electrostatic field, and Jaya, Venerated Firemage makes it to where the damage can almost double. Maybe triple if played right. I smiled and looked at Leo in the corner of my eye, his face looked like a red tomato. He was blushing, and his blushing started to make me blush as well. I stood back up and started to blush even more, I turned my face and buried my face in my hands. I knew it, I was in love with Leo. I couldn't believe, I had fallen for Leo. But he was also blushing, did he like me as well. I buried my face in my hands even more, NO NO NO NO NO. Definitely not, no way he liked me. He just saved me because it was the normal thing to do and only taught me magic because he loves magic and wants to spread it. I took a peek at him, he seemed to have lost all the functions he had and was steaming with a beat red face. Like he had just eaten the spiciest pepper in the world. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, it was so obvious that it was painful. I quickly returned to my seat and started to pull all of the cards together and shuffled them together. I saw Daiki in the corner of my eye, smirking in our direction. He knew. The first guy I like, and he's an ex world champion in a trading card game.

(Insides Leo's mind)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Why, I know it and I can't hide it. I'm in love with this girl.

(Back to Ace's mind)

I shuffled the cards together and used the trick from the internet that I had learned on how to correctly make sure all the cards are random. "D-do you w-wanna play a game L-leo." I said. He nodded quickly. His demeanor changed in 1 second flat. Half of a second ago he was a blushing mess that was so painfully obvious who he had a crush on, and in the next half second he was a ruthless killer who had a cold aura around him. He was no longer the Leo I knew, he was ready to kill anything that dared challenge the king of his territory, his jungle. I was playing a game that was clearly one sided in his favor and there was nothing I could do. But, but. I found not only exhilarating, but I found Leo even cuter now. My heart started to race at a rate that I previously would have been afraid of and seen a doctor about, but not anymore. It was the rush of playing magic. It was like I had entered into a new world entirely. The game now started.

First turn was my turn since I was the new player. I drew my 7 cards along with Leo, and looked at my hand. 3 mountains, 1 shock, 1 skewer the critics, and 2 Jaya's greetings. I looked in my hand, and saw skewer the critics. It was a spell that dealt 3 damage to an opponent or his creatures/planeswalkers, but it had something called a spectacle cost. I looked at the text next to the one red mana symbol. In summary it told me that if I dealt damage to my opponent then I could pay 1 mana instead to cast the spell. I smiled at the card, and quickly let the smile fade. I couldn't give away any information. I played one of the lands out of my hand and passed the turn. It was now the kings turn to make a move. I looked at Leo as he looked in his hand after he drew his card. I smiled. Maybe falling for him wasn't that bad. He was nice and a bonus was he was actually pretty cute and adorable, yet was able to send me a clear message that he did not mess around with things and when everything hit the fan he was ready to own everyone in his craft. He played a land and tapped it, playing Llanowar elves onto the battlefield. I looked at the card, in all of the matches we had played before. It had seem this was the card that got his deck's purpose to start. I wouldn't let him win this time. He passed the turn to me and I picked up the card from my deck. Another mountain, I put it in my hand and played a different mountain in my hand. I tapped them both and player Jaya's Greeting and killed Llanowar elves. I had taken out a resource of his. Daiki told me that was the best way to take out a player like Leo. Not to worry about his life total because if he had to creatures of his to generate all the mana he needs for his power players. I looked at the top card of my deck, thanks to the scry ability that the card I just used had. It was another mountain, so I put it on the bottom of the deck. I passed the turn, feeling proud of myself about how well I had just done. A lot better then when I first started out. I was smiling and cheering myself on in the back of my head, in the front of it as well. I looked up at Leo, who was looking down at the board. "So then, you think your amazing at the game now huh." He said slowly pulling his head up. "A king of the jungle always has more ways to find his prey then just by his sight you know." He said. A smile then came across his face, and his eyes started to burn with passion. Instantly, the jungle I thought was deep and frightful at first, became a lot vaster and full of things that put all his other creatures in the grave. This is what the students had meant when they asked if I was alright, I felt like I was going to die in his jungle.
