If I had to describe it, it felt as if someone had dropped me off in the middle of the amazon rain forest and told me to survive with no supplies, no food, and no water. Leo's look sent a chill through my bone, the way he told me how I thought I was the best at the game now, the way he looked at me, the way he spoke, and the smile on his face. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat, but it refused to dislodge. His eyes were that of a predator who hadn't had a good hunt in so long, and he finally found a prey who could fight back a little. I tried to swallow away the lump, to no such luck, my throat had gone dry. T-this was the effect of a great green player, the nature he used didn't feel pity, it used all of it's root to trap it and have it's powerful beasts destroy it. Leo drew his card and played a forest, tapping both of his forests to play 2 Llanowar elves onto the field. I hadn't just started at square one, I was square 0. I had taken out 1 of his Llanowar elves, but he just bounced back with two more. It was like my Jaya's Greeting didn't even make a difference. He still had one in his deck, and he's going to draw it eventually. "Pass turn." He said smiling.

I untapped my mountains, then I drew my card, it was another Jaya's Greeting. "Okay Ace, you can do this." I thought to myself. I played a mountain, then tapped 2 to play one of my Jaya's Greeting on one of his Llanowar, one less mana for him to spend at least. I had one mana left over, but if I played my cards right then I would be better off waiting for the combo I could play next turn. "I pass my turn." I said.

He nodded at the board state and untapped all of his lands, drawing a card. He smiled and played another forest, tapping 2 and playing a Druid of the Cowl. He once again had another source of mana. Every time I felt like my fire was getting more fuel, it was quickly brought back down by yet another vine slowly taking my breath. "Next, I tap my Llanowar elves and my druid of the cowl and my forest to play Llanowar tribe." He said playing down the card. It was a three green mana cost creature with a tapping ability, allowing him to create 3 green mana. What he need, more mana for me to deal with. In total now he had 8 mana, and soon enough he was going to be getting Ghalta out. I swallowed, the lodge in my throat still there. "I pass the turn." He said.

I looked at his board and my board, the difference was greater then anything in the world. He had 8 mana while I had a whole 3 mana. He had creatures on creatures while I had no creatures out on the field. The distance was filled with dangerous creatures who served a king, a very strong and powerful king, named Leo. I untapped my lands and drew my card, a mountain in which I played. The distance was indeed very large, but I had a trick under my sleeve, one that is would burn down a bit of it. "First, I tap one mountain and play shock, dealing 2 damage to you." I said as I played shock, he was down to 18 health now. "Next I'll play Skewer the Critics for it's spectacle cost, meaning since I dealt damage to you this turn I only need to pay 1 red mana, and so it damages you for 3 damage." I said. 15 of his health was left, that was the most health I've ever taken from him. I smiled, but I wasn't done yet, "Finally I play another Skewer the Critics for it's spectacle cost, dealing another 3 damage to you." Leo put his life counter down to 12, and the smile on my face return. The knot in my throat cleared and finally it felt like the jungle had finally been cleared a bit. The distance between the king of the jungle and I was now no longer much of a distance. But then the king looked at me, and his eyes reminded me that it was the jungle, there's always more once you get pass one part.

"Your doing good alright, really good. I'm proud that someone who was once so weak, is now this strong. But there's a large difference between you and me, and the weakness that you hold has attracted a hunter to his prey." Leo said. I looked at him and felt as my throat went dry once again, the knot didn't go away, it just moved to a spot to hit me more. I tap for 8 mana, and I'll be leaving 1 floating. Fear the queen lowly prey. You have insult him, and now the her temple will be your grave. Ghalta, Primal Hunger; ROAR!" Leo said as he slammed the card down. The room became a jungle, the floor crackled with leaves and sticks. Leaves the size of my body draped over every where, a stream near by. At first, a small little tremble shook me a bit, then another one that was stronger, then stronger yet again. A rustle in the leaves grew to a tree being knocked down, and from the shadow of the brush came a monster of green. No, it wasn't a monster, it was power incarnated. It was the queen of the jungle. Atop of the creature stood Leo, his eyes slitted. He was the king above the queen, the ultimate predator. All I could do is stand in fear and silently die. I blinked and the room went back to normal, but the fear was still real. Leo seemed to notice it and lowered his eyes at me. "I pass the turn." He said.

I looked at my hand, I could play Jaya's greeting and take care of one of those mana producers, but then I would still be left open to his attacks, and he would wipe most of my health off the face of the earth with a single attack. That's if he doesn't use a boost and destroy me in one turn. I untapped my land and drew a card, if only I could have done something earlier. Then it hit me, I could have. If I didn't get so greedy and use that combo last turn I could have destroyed the Llanowar Tribe, that would have made it to where he couldn't play Ghalta. I wanted to face palm myself hard, Leo must have seen it too. He couldn't say anything though, he was my opponent. I had a sinking feeling, I could feel it. I knew I was going to lose this game.
