"The reason why everyone in school expect you knows that I even play magic is because I was bullied just like you." Leo said, his hand clasped together and shaking a little. My eyes widened, Leo was bullied like me! I wanted to hug him even more now, to comfort him when it was so clear that he was in pain about it. "Let me tell you the whole story. About 2 years ago, when Daiki and I were 15, we moved down here  to lessen the burden on my dad since he still had my brother and sister. Daiki is the only child, his parents died with my mom and since then he lived with my family." He explained, after saying all of that he giggled. "Looking back we were idiots, we got jobs and went to school like we were adults or something, but we would play magic every night and that's honestly what kept us going. I loved to play magic, and when I heard that I could make money by playing magic as a pro, I took the chance. When I first got here, I was the new kid and one of the biggest nerds. However I was also poor, I gave those damn bullies two reasons to pick on me." He said before falling silent for a second, "I-I was beaten on multiple occasions, times where Daiki would have a neighborhood search because I was knocked out cold. Eventually, I made it to the pro series of that year, and won it overwhelming. That gave Daiki and I enough money with the 1 million prize pot. That gave me the courage to stand up, then transfer to a new school that would take me nearly an hour to get to, the school I'm at now. But the memories still haunt me like a ghost, and sometimes wake me up at night." He finally said. His shaking became harder, and I was sure I saw a tear start to fall down his cheek. Without thinking, I hugged him as tight as I could. I ended up pushing the two of us down into the river below, thankfully, it was low enough to the ground that it just got the two of us wet. I was still hugging him until I realized what I did and let go, a mess of blush and embarrassment. "WHAT THE HELL!" Leo screamed. I looked down blushing, "Well, you just looked so sad and I wanted to give you a hug, to let you know that I'm there for you." I said trying to hide my blush. He sighed and got up, "Come on." He said extending his hand to me, "You'll catch a cold if you stay in the water." I took his hand and stood up, my hair, clothes, and everything was wet. I'm lucky that my bag was flung off when I fell or the whole of my school supplies ,and more importantly the deck Leo made me, would have gotten all destroyed. We started to walk and Leo had taken off his jacket and was now in just his pants and his white button up and down shirt. I walked behind him in misery once again, until my heart rose once again with his words, "Thank you." I looked at him for a moment and stood there frozen. My heart jumped in joy, knowing that he thanked me for the hug made me so happy that I couldn't help but smile. I caught up to him and we walked all the way to my house, where I dragged him inside so that I could at least have his clothes dried. My older brother met me with a smile, but it quickly turned into a scowl once he saw Leo and how we were soaking wet. He pushed me to the side and got into Leo's face, which didn't move from the hulking 6'0 mountain of a brother I had, most likely from fear. "What did you do to my little sister, you little piece of shit?!" He asked in a rough voice that he never had with me or anyone else for that matter. "Nothing, we accidentally fell into the river near your house." Leo explained. He walked past my brother like he was nothing to fear, most people would have ran out the door by now. I smiled and walked over to my brother, "It's okay Matsuro, he's my friend from the card shop I told you about. The ex champion, remember." I said patting him on the back. He stood there shocked, no one had just walked past him when he put on his scary face before, it was the first time. I just smiled and showed Leo to my parents, who said it was fine to let him dry his clothes quickly. Hell, he was allowed to stay for dinner if he wanted too. He accepted and I showed him to Marsuro's room, he was going to borrow some of his clothes. I grabbed a t-shirt and pair of pants from his drawer and laid them out on his bed, told him where the underwear was and closed the door, telling him to give me the wet clothes when he's out. I stood next to the door for about 10 minutes before Leo opened the door, revealing clothes that barley fit him. The shirt went down to his knees and revealed a large portion of his chest and his pants sagged down a little. I started to blush and looked away, maybe I should have given him a set of my dad's clothes instead. "How about a pair of my dad's clothes, come on." I said grabbing his hand and leading him to my parents room, doing the same thing as I did in my brother's room. Later, he came out in clothes that fit him way better then my brother's. A lot less skin showing this time. He threw me the wet clothes and I noticed how he had nearly folded my brother's clothes and laid them on the bed. I smiled at that, it was going to make that easier.

That night we had backed chicken salad, just what we needed to have with a guest. Our normal night was the exact same most nights, some sort of healthy thing that a vegetarian might like, but what if Leo was a meat eater and rarely ate something like. But after the dinner was plated and served and thanked the gods for the food, he dug in and ate it like it was the most delicious thing he ever tasted. My mom was an instant fan, as no one in my family ever actually finished the plate aside from her. Leo was truly a green player through and through, he ate everything that was in the jungle as well. Maybe the predators fangs weren't as sharp as I originally thought. What surprised me and the rest of my family, solidifying him as one of the most favorite people in the world for my mom, he got seconds and thirds. For the first time in the known world, the bowl of salad my mom prepared was completely through and through eaten. "Thank you for the meal Mrs. Okyuma. It was amazing." He said. My mom grabbed me and dragged me into the living room, away from every one else. Once she was sure the boys couldn't hear us, she looked at me with amazing curiosity and anticipation, "When's the marriage, when am I having grandchildren!?" She asked getting right into my face. If I could be win a comparison to a apple, I could now be compared to a tomato. "M-mom what, I-I'm not into h-him like th-hat." I stuttered. I was bad at hiding my feelings apparently.

-Mean while with the boys-

Silence filled the air as Ace's big brother, her dad, and I sat there. I heard something about her brother's name when I was walking, Matsuro was it? Her dad's name I didn't know, I don't think I'll know for awhile. They had a tv in the kitchen, and her dad had turned on the MMA channel, we were all sitting there watching as someone nailed a guy in the face with a mean uppercut, followed by a kick to the short ribs. He ended up losing the match.

-Back to Ace-

My mother bombed me with questions from left and right about Leo. Things like what his favorite color was, what his age was, how was he doing in school, finally the question cake down to, "What does he want to be when he gets out of high school?" I thought about it, I actually didn't know. I always assumed that he wanted to keep on being a pro magic player. But what if he had some sort of side passion he was fostering, hoping it to be a job one day. I tired to imagine Leo as a food cart owner, selling his own homemade hot dogs, then I tried to imagine him running a large business at a desk for hours on hours of paperwork. Nothing I put him into seemed to work with his personality. The best answer just had to be, "He's already achieving his goal of becoming a new magic the gathering pro. He's my ex-world champion after all." I smiled. Then my face bursted out into the deepest tomato ever, realizing that I had said my, like we were dating. My mother's eyes lit up and it was back to thousands of questions per second.

Leo didn't leave my house until 8:45 at night, I apologized for him being forced to stay so late. He said he didn't mind, as I knew, he didn't have anyone to get onto him when he got home. He had changed back into his clothes after they had a long time in the dryer. My dad's clothes and brother's were now being washed. He started to walk down my lawn, stood still for a second and turned around. "You have what it takes to be a champion as well you know, you have the potential to be my world champion." He said. He turned around and left, leaving me a blushing mess once again. I didn't go to sleep till 9:30, the words he said were still blasting in my head. Sure he had made a sweet comment, revealing that when I had said, what I am now calling the blushing incident involving my mom, he had eased dropped on it. For how long I don't know, but nonetheless, he heard that. But the part about being a champion, it hit me hard. Could I really be a champion at magic, was that a possibility or just a fantasy that Leo said to let me get more courageous? I smiled, thinking that he probably meant it, with that being the last thought I had before going to sleep.
