Delilah's P.O.V
-
Dear Dad, Some guy is moving in next door, mom wants me to be friends with him, but I don't even know his name, or why mom wants me to talk to him so badly, but I guess I'll try, I don't want to be on mom's bad side.
Anyway, according to mom he's "socially awkward" and she wants me to make him feel like he belongs.
So, I guess I'll try.
Love you, daddy
-Delilah ThorneI pushed on the desk with the palms of my hands, sending the chair I was sitting in backwards, and hitting the door to my room slightly. I spinned it around and threw my head back, letting out a huge sigh and staring at the ceiling.
Finally, after a while of staring at the ceiling, there was a loud crash from outside, my head snapped up and I got out of the chair, pushing it back into place and looking out the window, it was very cloudy and had started to rain, I looked down and saw a large truck parked outside, as well as a car, though I couldn't identify where the crashing sound had came from.
I quickly made my way downstairs, where the lights where still on, but my mom was not there. I quickly threw on my light rain coat, which was hanging by the door and my black rubber boots.
I opened the door and stepped into the rain, next door I could see some men trying to lift a box from the ground, and my mom standing with an umbrella talking to another woman, who looked worried, and was drenched by the rain.I walked over to them, looking around, a large moving truck was parked outside the house and men where carrying boxes into the open door of the house.
"Hey, mom. I heard a crash, what's going on?" I asked, looking at the woman my mom had been talking to. She was tall, and had drenched brown hair. She had dark circles under her eyes and looked extremely stressed out.
