*Chapter 5*
Andrew
I looked up at the large log cabin-style building and shifted, quickly slipping the clothing I had tied to my hip on and walking up the path leading to the building I walked inside, seeing that the pack house was rather deserted, only a few people walking around. The house was very large, with two mansion style wooden staircases leading up to a second level hallway. On the high ceiling was a metal chandelier that was slightly rusted, with two large moose antlers perched on top. The floor was a dark ebony polished wood. The main hall was rather empty, with a few decorations.
Branching off near the stairs was the kitchen and dining room. Connected to the main hall there where four rooms. The alphas office, my office, the clinic, and the council room. I walked across the hall and knocked on the alphas door.
"Come in" I heard a deep voice from the other side of the door. I opened the door, closing it behind me and stood, my hands behind my back.
Alpha's office was larger than mine, there where two black chairs sitting against the wall to the right of the door and two bookshelves at the back of the room. A painting of the lake on our territory in between them. Right in the middle was his desk, it was made of a slightly lighter wood than the floor and had a name tag on it.
Alpha sat in a large black office chair, when he saw me he moved his work away from me and put his hands on his chin, smiling.
"It's been a while, Andrew. Please, pull up a chair." I nodded and grabbed one of the black chairs, pulling it up to his desk.
"How are you doing in your new home?" He asked.
"You didn't tell me, Alpha." He chuckled.
"What ever are you talking about?" He asked.
"You know what I'm talking about." I held back a growl.
"Ah, I see. So you don't like you're neighbors?" I let out a low growl, how dare he say such a thing, I loved my mate. He looked rather taken aback by my behavior.
"So you do like them, or you don't?" He raised and eyebrow.
"She's my mate." I whispered silently.
"She- what?!" He yelled, pushing the chair away and standing up.
"My mate. She's my mate, alpha." I said a little louder, my heart pounding just talking about her.
"Ah.. I need to talk to Dianne about this. This is big news." He said, beginning to pace back and forth.
"I'm sorry, alpha." I said, looking down.
"It's fine, it's fine. This is just a lot to take in." He sighed, sitting back down and pushing the chair forward.
"Tell me about the rouges." He stated.
"Oh uh, they are advancing quicker than we thought, we rescheduled their attack to be in a week or so.."
"Alright, good." He scribbled something down in his notebook and nodded.
"You may leave. But first, come back tomorrow. 5:15 to be exact. I'm talking to Dianne tonight, we will get something worked out."

"I'm going out for the evening with Lucy, is it okay for you to stay home alone?" Mom asked me, a hopeful look on her face. I turned away from the T.V and nodded.
"Sure, how long will you be gone?"
"I'm not sure. I'll text you once we figure out a time." She smiled.
"Okay, see you later, Mom." I turned back to the T.V. She waved and took her purse, walking out the door and locking it. I let out a little sigh and wrapped myself in my blanket.
I yawned and felt myself getting drowsy. I feel asleep to the sound of the T.V.---Later---
I looked up, noticing that it was dark out. I checked the time on my phone 8:30, no texts from Mom either. I scooted from my uncomfortable position on the couch and threw my blanket off. I walked upstairs to the bathroom and heard a noise from my room. I froze and listened hard, nothing.
Just in case, I grabbed a hairbrush and slowly walked to my room, opening the door with my brush. I could faintly make out an outline, I flipped the switch on and screamed, hurling my hairbrush at the figure, who dodged it easily.
"What are you doing in my house?!"
"Calm down, it's me, Andrew!" I shook my head, what the hell is he doing in my house? No, how did he get in? I ran at him with a fisted hand, he caught it in his palm and grabbed my arm. Immediately everything seemed to go in slow motion, my hair stood on edge, a strange tingling sensation shit through my arm making me want to melt with happiness. He looked down at me, shocked, his eyes soft.
I snapped myself out of my weird faze and pulled away from him.
"Get out! Don't even think about it!" He made a strange noise, it almost sounded, canine. I furrowed my eyebrows and he just stared at me. His gaze sent small sparks through my body.
He looked at me, sadness in his eyes. It made my heart hurt and he looked down.
"I'm sorry." He said guiltily.
"Stop trying to guilt me!" I shook my head, trying to get the strange sensation away from me.
Soon, I heard a buzz. He took out his phone and his eyes widened.
"I have to leave anyway." He said, putting t back in his pocket.
"Bye, darling." He smiled
"Darling? What the hell?" I held back a laugh. My conscious knew what was up.
