I Choose You, You Choose Me

A young boy with blue eyes and short brown hair is wearing blue jeans, a red flannel, a grey beanie is putting on brown boots on his bed. The boy is in a room surrounded by posters of Pokemon battling. The boy finishes tying up his boots and sits up. The boy looks around one last time at the room he's in and leaves the room. The boy sees a woman in the kitchen cooking something. The boy walks into the kitchen and the woman turns and sees the boy.
???: Good morning Alan, you're up early.
Alan: Got to be Mom. I'm getting my Pokemon today remember?
Alan's mom stops cooking.
Mom: Are you sure? I mean, you don't have to go get a Pokemon. No one won't hate you for it.
Alan: I have to Mom, or else I'll always be seen as weak.
Mom: But Alan, it's ok to be weak.
Alan: But I'm not mom, and I'm going to prove it.
Alan's mom smiles.
Mom: I know you will, but I'm just-
Alan: Worried. I know Mom, but I'll be fine. I got Hop to help me if anything bad happens.
Suddenly, there's a knock on the door of the house.
Mom: Got to be Hop. He does realise that he can come in whenever he wants right?
Alan: He's polite mom, and respectable.
Alan walks out of the kitchen and heads to the front door. Alan opens the door and a young dark skin boy with short blue hair, yellowish brown eyes wearing a blue jean jacket with a fur collar, black T-shirt, black jeans, and black and blue sneakers.
Alan: Hey Hop.
Hop: Sup. You ready to get our Pokemon today?
Alan: You'd even have to ask?
Hop: Heh, no. Of course I know you're excited, I know how much you want this.
Alan: I know.
Alan turns his head back into the house.
Alan: Mom, I'm going to the Professor's now. I'll be back soon.
Mom: Ok, be careful.
Alan: I will.
Alan closes the door and sighs.
Hop: Nervous?
Alan: Of course I am, aren't you?
Hop: A little, but excited at the same time.
Alan: Same here. I wonder who'll be my partner?

(At the Professor's lab)

An old woman wearing a lab coat and has a wooden cane is walking around a lab when a green monkey climbs onto her shoulder. The old lady chuckles.
???: What's the matter Grookey? Did something happen?
Grookey points and the lady turns to see a red and white rabbit kicking at a wall, causing a hole to be created. The old lady gets furious.
???: Scorbunny!!! Stop that at once!!!
The old lady walks towards Scorbunny but Scorbunny jumls high into the air and lands on a light. Scorbunny laughs mischievouslly.
???: Get down here now!!! I don't need you damaging more of my lab.
Scorbunny jumps off of the light and lands in front of a hallway, where a small blue chameleon is hiding behind a chair. The old lady sighs as Scorbunny chuckles.
???: I can't wait to get rid of you bunny.
Scorbunny looks at the old lady, with a hint of pain in it's eyes.
???: Though it will be less eventful, with all your distractions. It will be a little boring.
Scorbunny smirks and jumps onto a window sill.
???: Be careful, I need you to not be injured when the boys arrive.
Scorbunny ignores her and stares out into the world, imagining a life of adventure and battling.

(Alan and Hop)

Hop: So, which starter are you choosing?
Alan: Don't know yet. I'll know when I see the one.
Hop: I might choose Sobble. Or maybe Grookey.... But Scorbunny is so cool though.
Alan: Heh, seems like you also have to wait and see too.
Hop: Heh, I guess you're right.
The two arrive infront of a house with a bunch of wild Pokemon surrounding it.
Alan: You ready?
Hop: Are you? This is way more important to you then it is to me.
Alan looks at the building and breathes in, holds for a few seconds, and lets it out.
Alan: Yeah, I'm ready.
Alan and Hop enter the lab and see the place empty.
Hop: Professor Magnolia?! Are you here?
???: I'll be out there in a second!
The two boys start looking around the lab, waiting for the professor to come back. Hop was staring out a window when Grookey jumps onto Hop's head, making him jump.
Hop: What the-
Hop then sees Grookey jump onto his shoulder.
Hop: Why hello there.
Hop pets Grookey's head and Grookey smiles. Alan watches this and smiles when he suddenly hears a crashing sound. Alan turns around and sees Scorbunny run out of the lab. The professor exits a room and sighs as she realises that Scorbunny has left.
Alan: Everything ok?
Magnolia perks up and turns to face Alan.
Magnolia: Ah Alan, good to see you. Yes, everything's fine.
Alan: Why'd that Pokemon run off?
Magnolia: It's scared of leaving I think. I don't know why but I think that's the case.
Alan: Is it gone for good?
Magnolia: No. It's probably in the training yard.
Alan: Can you lead me there?
Magnolia: Sure. Right this way.
Magnolia and Alan leave the building and walk towards a courtyard where Alan sees Scorbunny running towards a practice dummy and kicks it twice in the chest and jumps backwards and does it all over again.
Alan: Does it always do this?
Magnolia: Yes. Everyday it just comes out here and practice.
The two walk over to Scorbunny and they stop to watch.
Alan: I don't think it's afraid of leaving.
Magnolia: Oh really?
Alan: I think it's afraid of letting down it's trainer.
Magnolia: Makes sense.
Magnolia watches Alan, seeing something click in Alan's brain. Alan walks up to Scorbunny, who is out of breath.
Alan: Hi.
Scorbunny looks to see Alan and jumps back.
Alan: Wait. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to help you out.
Scorbunny tilts it's head in confusion.
Alan: I can see that you're strong. But you need to be more creative. How about you try this.
Alan points towards the dummy and Scorbunny's eyes follows.
Alan: Try kicking the leg first and then kicking the chest area. It'll make the enemy off balanced and easier to beat.
Scorbunny looks at Alan. Alan nods and Scorbunny looks at the dummy and runs at it. Scorbunny then kicks the leg twice and then kicks to chest twice, which causes the dummy to fall over. Scorbunny looks at the dummy with shock and looks back at Alan. Alan smiles and chuckles.
Alan: That was cool Scorbunny!!
Alan holds out a fist and Scorbunny fist bumps Alan. Magnolia watches with a smile on her face. Alan crotches next to Scorbunny.
Alan: Say, wanna be my starter? I think you and I would be great partners.
Scorbunny looked up at Alan, happiness in it's eyes. Scorbunny nods and Alan smiles.
Alan: Nice to have you aboard Scorbunny.
Hop: So, you've chosen too?
Alan turns to see Hop walking towards them with Grookey on his shoulder.
Alan: Yep. I guess Grookey is your partner.
Hop: Kinda by default. I couldn't find a third one.
Magnolia: That's because someone already took a Sobble. Didn't have enough time to go find a new Sobble.
Alan: I think this is fine Professor.
Magnolia: Good, because here.
Magnolia hands the boys each a Pokeball. Alan and Hop both point the ball at their starter and both starters enter the ball. The ball wobbles three times and then clicks.
Alan: My first Pokemon.... My first step.
Magnolia: I hope that each of you will have an exciting journey.
Hop: Hey Alan, wanna have a battle? Before we set off on our journey tomorrow?
Alan: Sure, why not.
The two walk away from each other and stop. The two turn to face each other.
Hop: Go Grookey!!
Hop throws his pokeball and Grookey appears. Grookey grabs a small stick and starts banging the ground with excitement.
Alan: Alright, let's go Scorbunny!!
Alan tosses his Pokeball and Scorbunny appears, bouncing up and down with excitement.
Alan: You ready Scorbunny?
Scorbunny nods and gets into a fighting stance.
Hop: Alright then, Grookey use Tackle!!!
Alan: Scorbunny Double Kick!!!
Scorbunny and Grookey charge at each other, preparing to battle and to begin their adventure.
