For his entire life, people thought Alan Nordwick wouldn't be a strong trainer, much less champion of the Galar Region. But Alan is going to show them that not only is he a strong trainer, but that he'll be the champion of the region.
In the woods Alan is training Scorbunny and Chewtle. Alan: Scorbunny, use Double Kick!!! Chewtle, use Bite!!! Scorbunny jumps into the air kicks at Chewtle twice but the second time Chewtle bites down on Scorbunny's leg. Scorbunny starts stomping on Chewtle's head, trying to pry it's leg out of Chewtle's hold. Scorbunny's mouth starts to light on fire. Chewtle sees that and let's go of Scorbunny. Scorbunny then fires a fireball but it instantly drops to ground bounces it. Both Chewtle and Scorbunny look disappointed and Alan pets Scorbunny's head. Alan: Don't look so down. We'll keep on practicing until we get it right. Scorbunny and he kicks the fireball lightly and it moves. Alan sees this and starts thinking. Alan: Alright, I got an id- Suddenly a bolt of lightning hits Alan and shocks him. Alan falls backwards as his Pokemon run towards him. Alan shakes his head and sits up straight. Alan: I'm alright guys. ???: I'm sorry!! Are you alright? Alan: Yeah, I'm fine. Alan looks up to see a girl with black hair in pigtails, wearing a black leather jacket, peach dress, and black leather boots. A small yellow, tan, and black Pokemon walks beside the girl.

Alan gets up as he brushes off the dirt on his clothes. ???: I'm still so sorry. I don't even know why Morpeko even did that. Morpeko smiles and eats a berry. Alan: It's all good. Name's Alan. Alan reaches out his hand and the girl shakes it. Marnie: Name's Marnie, nice to meet you. Alan: So, what brings you here to the woods? Marnie: Heading towards Turffield so I can get my first gym badge. Alan: You doing the gym challenge as well? Marnie: Yeah, I am. Are you doing it as well? Alan: Yeah, I'm just training right now so I can be ready for when I do fight the gym leader of Turffield. Marnie: Say, you want to have a battle? It would be good training for both our Pokemon. Alan: Ok, I'm in. Marnie: Great, let's do this. The two walk backwards so to make some distance between the two. Marnie pulls out a Pokeball and Alan smirks. Alan: Alright Chewtle, let's do this. Chewtle walks infront of Alan, chomping to show intimidation. Marnie smiles. Marnie: Go Linoone. Marnie throws the Pokeball and a white and black badger with it's tongue sticking out appears infront of Marnie.

Alan: Chewtle, use Water Gun!!! Chewtle fires a blast of water towards Linoone but it dodges really quickly. Marnie: Go, use Lick!!! Linoone chuckles as it charges at Chewtle and licks it, causing Chewtle to shiver and take a step back. Alan: Bite!!! Chewtle opens it's mouth and bites Linoone's arm. Linoone smirks. Marnie: Bite!!! Linoone open it's mouth and bites down on Chewtle's leg. Chewtle winces and let's go of Linoone's arm. Linoone chuckles. Marnie: Now Slam!!! Linoone lifts Chewtle off the ground and slams it into the ground. Alan: CHEWTLE!!!! Chewtle gets up and shrugs it off. Alan: You ok? Chewtle: Chewtle!!! Chewtle smiles and stands ready. Alan smiles. Alan: Alright, tackle!!! Chewtle charges at Linoone. Marnie: Do the same Linoone!!! Linoone also charges at Chewtle and the two collide into each other as both Pokemon tried to push the other onto the ground. Alan: Water Gun, now!!! Chewtle fires a blast of water directly into Linoone's face, causing it to back away. Alan: NOW USE BITE!!!! Chewtle opens it's mouth and bites onto Linoone's arm, causing it to feel pain. Chewtle let's go and stands tall as Linoone struggles to get up. Marnie: You ok Linoone? Linoone looks back at Marnie and smirks. Marnie smiles and nods. Marnie: Ok, use Lick!! Linoone sticks out it's tongue and charges at Chewtle. Alan: Chewtle, Bite it's tongue!!! Chewtle jumps at Linoone bites down on Linoone's tongue. Linoone screams in pain as Chewtle let's go. Alan: Tackle!!! Chewtle charges and rams into Linoone, causing it to fall to the ground unconscious. Marnie pulls out a Pokeball and returns Linoone. She holds the ball close to her chest. Marnie: You did well Linoone. Get some rest. Alan: Good job Chewtle!! You were great as always. Chewtle looks at Alan smiles a derpy smile. Alan looks to Marnie. Alan: Alright then, ready to go another round? Marnie: Yes. This battle has been really fun. Alan: Same here. Ready? Marnie: Yes. Go Morpeko!!! Morpeko walks onto the battlefield and starts eating berries. Alan: Chewtle, use Tackle!!! Chewtle charges at Morpeko but Morpeko walks to the side as Chewtle runs past. Marnie: Morpeko, use Nuzzle!! Morpeko walks up to Chewtle and starts rubbing it's cheeks against it, causing Chewtle to be electrocuted. Chewtle stumbles backwards as Morpeko eats a berry. Marnie: Now, use Headbutt. Morpeko jumps at Chewtle and hits Chewtle with it's head. Chewtle falls to the ground unconscious. Alan oulls out a Pokeball and returns Chewtle. Alan: You did good buddy. We'll take it from here. Alan puts the Pokeball away and looks at Scorbunny. Alan: Ready? Scorbunny smiles and jumps up and down excitedly. Alan smirks. Alan: Alright, Scorbunny use Double Kick!!! Scorbunny runs at Morpeko and kicks it twice, sending it flying into a tree. Morpeko lands on it's feet and takes a bite out of a berry. Marnie: Go, use Aura Wheel. Morpeko's eyes shine as it tosses the berry and starts running at Scorbunny. Suddenly a wheel starts to form around Morpeko as it charges at Scorbunny. Alan: Dodge quick!! Scorbunny tries to run out of the way but Morpeko hits Scorbunny and sends it flying into a tree. Scorbunny lands on it's feet as it staggers to stand straight. Alan: You ok? Scorbunny nods with a little smirk on it's face. Alan: Alright, use- Alan then looks to see Morpeko start to glow. Morpeko suddenly now looks different. Both sides of it's fur is black and the middle is now purple, with it's eyes now have turned red.

Alan: What? What just happend? Marnie: This is Morpeko's Hangry Mode, it's a little bit more angry now. Alan: Doesn't matter, we got this. Go, use Pound!!! Scorbunny runs at Morpeko and throws it's fist at it. Marnie: Dark Pulse, go!!! Morpeko opens it's mouth and fires a black beam at Scorbunny, causing Scorbunny to fall to the ground. Scorbunny struggles to get up but it manages to do so. Alan: Damn, seem it's gotten stronger now. Suddenly, Scorbunny's mouth starts to light on fire. Alan: Scorbunny wait! Scorbunny then shoots out a fire ball but it just plops to the ground infront of Morpeko and Scorbunny. Marnie: Um.... Is that normal? Alan: Don't know, we just learned it today. Scorbunny starts to get angry and then kicks the ball of fire and it whizzed past Morpeko's head. Alan: Hmm... Alright, Scorbunny use Double Kick. Scorbunny runs at Morpeko kicks at it twice but Morpeko dodges both kicks. Marnie: Now, use Thunderbolt!!! Morpeko start producing electricity and fires a bolt of lightning at Scorbunny, hitting Scorbunny which cause it to fall to the ground unconscious. Alan runs up to Scorbunny and lifts it up off the ground. Alan: You did well. And soon we'll perfect that Ember. Scorbunny opens it's eyes and smiles and nods. Alan pulls out a Pokeball and returns Scorbunny. Marnie walks up to Alan with Morpeko now back in it's normal form. Marnie: That was a great battle. Alan: Agreed, and next time we meet, I won't lose. Marnie chuckles. Marnie: I look forward to it. The two shake hands and head off in different directions, but bound to meet again soon.
