*1 week later*

I walked over to my bookshelf and pulled out my favourite book series and jumped on my bed. Even though I haven't read a book in a while I thought as I have work in two hours, I need some time to kill.

Three chapters in I heard a faint buzzing over the other side of my room. It only dawned on me after a few seconds my phone was ringing so I ran over to it and picked it up. I never got to see who it was as I picked it up too quickly.

"Hello?" I said while absent-mindedly looking out of the window

"Uh hey, Mya" I saw Tom talking to someone on the phone then realised that he was the one who was talking to me. He looked straight over at me.

"Yes Tom" I replied

"Uh, would right now be a good time to talk. If it's not I can talk another if that's okay with you as I can do that" Tom said

"I wasn't doing anything important," I said looking over at my book contemplating on whether I should hang up and pick my book up again to work out whether Todd and Viola find each other again. "Sure. I'll talk to you"

"Okay. I'll see you in a minute" I could feel his smile radiating over from the other side of the phone

I saw him throw his phone down onto his bed and run to his bedroom door and open it and quickly run out. The next thing I see is him running out of his front door really quickly coming over to see me. I heard the doorbell ring and then my mum said "Oh hi Tom, what a lovely surprise" My mum has always loved Tom and she never knew what happened between us. "Uh, Hi Mrs Brown, is Mya home?" I heard Tom say "Oh, she's just up in her room. You can go on up if you like"

I heard some more talking but I didn't hear what was being said. Then heard someone walking upstairs, which I assumed was Tom, then the knock on the door came. "Mya, can I come in?

"Sure" I yelled from where I was sat at my desk.

The door slowly opened to reveal Tom standing there.

"Hey. Uh. Can we talk now? Uh, maybe without yelling at each other?" Tom said while laughing slightly

"We can try" I replied. There was a moment of silence while I was trying to think of something to say. "So why did you leave, without telling me. I thought we were best friends."

"Mya. I told you about the audition and a few months later I saw that I got the part for spiderman and they told me I had to leave for LA as soon as possible, so I had no chance for a goodbye.

"Tom. I told you when I was younger that my dad left with no explanation. Just like you did. That's what you made me feel like when you left. Except that this time you came back. I don't even remember my dad whereas I remember you. That was the hardest part. Wondering whether you were going to stay out in LA and not come back to me. Or that you were going to come back. To be honest, I didn't know what I wanted at that moment. I went through so much when you left. I thought I'd done something wrong" I started to feel a small lone tear journey down my cheek.
