"How was it?" My mum asked as I was walking in. I flopped down onto the sofa and took my heels off and then just fell back to let the sofa cushions consume me.
"Horrible. Why did you let me go?" I asked
"You were the one that wanted to go. Don't blame me" She laughed
"Why didn't you stop me is what I meant to say," I asked
"I thought you might have a good time. Why didn't you come back earlier?"
"I was with Tom at the diner. It got a bit too much and I had to leave so he took me there" I replied
"So you and Tom huh?" My mum elbowed me and raised her eyebrows
"Not like that mum" I rolled my eyes.
"Sure. I don't know why you guys didn't start going out years ago, you are so cute together"
"Mum, no. Tom and I don't like each other like that" I replied
"Sure you don't but the way that Tom looked at you was another story but you are obviously too young to understand and I can't tell you what it means"
While my mum was talking, my phone pinged so I walked over to get it and then walked back and flopped on the sofa again.
Tom:
You, me down at the river tomorrow at 12. no excuses x
Me:
Sure, why not x
Tom:
night darling I'll see you then x
Me:
Night x
"What did I say about you and Tom again?" My mum teased again
I got up and walked out of the room and then poked my head around the corner and said "Oh shut up" I blushed knowing it might be true, someday, hopefully
an: I know this was another short chapter but the next one should be a longer one
