The Only Girl - Remus Lupin x Reader [Book 1]

Late Celebration

Ok, quick message before we begin. Thank you all so much for 2k reads and over 100 votes. That is bloody amazing. Thank you all so much, you don't realise how happy this makes me. Love you guys!! Now onto the story.

OWL's. The worst tests ever. So much studying, so much stress, so much worrying and panic. I've been super stressed lately and everyone who is close to me personally knows this very well. The only thing keeping me sane during all this is Remus, he always know what to do to help me relax, whether it be hugs or taking naps together, me usually wrapped in his arms, he's always there for me. Remus hasn't been stressing about the OWL's as much as I have, maybe its because he is actually prepared for them or maybe he's just doing a better job at hiding it than I am. 

Classes haven't been as enjoyable lately, we've just been revising everything we've learnt over the past five years. I much prefer learning something new rather than writing pages and pages of notes on things I already know. I think I'm going to do pretty well on my OWL's. Maybe I am stressing for no reason. I'll do fine.

I take one look at the examination paper and panic. Everything I've ever learnt, everything I've been revising for the past few months, gone. 
I take a deep breath. I can do this.

"How do you think you did?" Remus asks me.
"I think I did alright," We had just exited our DADA exam, which was thankfully our final exam, James, Sirius and Peter had ran outside as soon as they could, trying to get as far away from anything that even reminded them of the tests. "What about question 13?" I joke. That question was about werewolves. 

"Name four ways of identifying a werewolf." He says with a laugh. "1. He is sitting in this very room, 2. He is me, 3. Remus Lupin ."
"4. He is totally adorable." I say finishing off his list. 
"5. He has the best girlfriend in the entire universe."

"Hey, the question said name four." I say and he laughs.
"Maybe if I put more answers I'll get more marks." He says. 
"Nerd." I say nudging his side. 
"Shut up, you're a nerd too." 
"How dare you." I say jokingly.
"Yes, how dare I. What shall we do now that we're free?" He asks. 

"Cuddle in the common room?" I suggest. 
"Seems like a great idea." He says taking my hand in his and we walk to the common room. We don't pass many people on our walk, most people are outside, the weather is quite nice and everyone is celebrating exams being over by spending time outside because they haven't been able to go out much due to studying. The common room is almost empty when me and Remus arrive and we get comfy on the couch and Remus pulls two books out of his bag and hands one to me. I look at the book, it's the one that I'm in the middle of reading. 

"How did you-?" 
"I guessed." He says cutting me off. "I know you aren't one for going outside where there is people, so I kinda guessed we'd end up spending time together in the common room, thought it would be a great opportunity to catch up on some reading." I smile to myself and continue reading from where I last left off and Remus does the same with his book. I hadn't read this book in months and I've really been wanting to finish it but I haven't been able to read because of studying. 

"Hey guys." Lily says cheerfully after we had been reading for quite a while and I put my book down, and Remus does the same, as she sits down beside us. 
"Hey Lily." Me and Remus say simultaneously.
"Look at you two, speaking at the the same time," Lily says teasingly. "So cute." 
"Shut it." I say threateningly. 
"Never." She says. "Speaking of you two being cute though, how long have you been going out for now?" Now that I think about it, me and Remus have been going out for a little over a year now.

"Just over a year." Remus answers. 
"Cute." Lily says. "Did you do anything special for your one year anniversary?"
"Honestly, we kinda forgot." Remus admits. Thank Merlin it wasn't just me that forgot.
"We were busy studying for the OWL's." I add. 

"Come on, you need to do something." Lily says. 
"We really don't." I say quickly.
"Why not?" Remus says quietly. 
"Remus, neither of us are really ones for grand gestures and fancy romantic evenings."

"We should've at least celebrated in some way." He says. "What day was the anniversary anyway?"
"Remus, I don't even know what day it is today." I say and Remus and Lily laugh. "Don't laugh, I'm not even kidding." 
"You two need to do something." Lily says once she stops laughing.
"I'll think of something." Remus says and Lily smiles.

**The next day**

I woke up pretty late, I must've really needed sleep, I've barely slept in months. I sit up to see a note sitting on the bottom of my bed with a flower on top of it. I put the flower in a cup on my bedside table and begin reading the note. 

Meet me in my room. I've got a surprise for you. 
(Y'all need some holy water if you're getting dirty minded while reading this)

I told him not to do anything special but curiosity is definitely getting the best of me. I put some clothes on, just a casual outfit and brush through my hair. I also put some water in the cup I put the flower in. Once I'm done getting ready I head to the boys room and open the door. I see Remus sitting on a blanket surrounded by a bunch of food and there's candles enchanted to float around, just like in the great hall. 

"Happy quite late anniversary." Remus says, standing up as I enter the room, closing the door behind me. 
"Remus, I told you, you didn't need to do this." I say and Remus approaches me. "It is beautiful though. Thank you." I wrap my arms around Remus and he does the same. When we break apart from the hug Remus leans down and kisses me. 
"I love you." He says as we part.
"I love you too." He steps away from me and takes my hand, leading me to the blanket. We both sit down and I look at all the food around us. "This is a lot of food." 

"I know, I just didn't know what you would want." He says.
"So you got everything?" 
"Pretty much." He says and we both laugh. 

**Remus POV**

How did I get a girl so smart, funny, amazing and beautiful? I think to myself as she laughs. She has such a nice laugh. Once we both stop laughing we gaze into each others eyes. 

"You're eyes are beautiful," I say. "I've never saw eyes as beautiful as yours."
"Remus, me and Sirius have the exact same eye colour." She says, laughing slightly. 
"Really? I hadn't noticed." I say. "Maye because I've never gazed lovingly into Sirius' eyes." 
"Of course you haven't." She jokes sarcastically and we both laugh.

Today went great. James, Sirius and Peter kept their promise, they didn't interrupt us at all. Me and Y/n spent the whole day together and spent most of it laughing at the stupidest things. I don't think there is anyone more perfect than the girl sitting across from me. She perfect in every way. The way her eyes sparkle slightly when she's happy or when she laughs. The way that she would drop everything to help a friend. The way that she somehow has a sarcastic comment about everything. The way that she makes me smile, even on days when I'm feeling really down. The way that she accepts me despite me being a werewolf. I love her so much. 

Ok, sorry for the short chapter, got really bad writers block and like 0 motivation. I have an idea on a chapter but I wanted to save that for next chapter or the one after that. Hope you enjoyed this stupid little filler chapter. And once again thank you all so much for 2k reads. Love you guys so much.
