You've all heard it. Experienced it. A sound, out of place and barely identifiable. You try to write it down as a familiar sound but it still makes you speed up and turn on lights.

That's the sound I'm talking about.

There are animals who excel in their elements- the leopard, who is the fastest. The shark, a sea creature that is swift and efficient and quick. And humans, with our brains and bodies that do mind boggling and awe-inspiring things daily. Those animals have niches. But what if an animal's niche was hiding?

What if it was watching, always, and so talented at hiding that we never knew or noticed?

Let me throw one more piece of information at you. That animal does exist. It prows and hunts. Those sounds are its movements.
And we are its prey. It is the alpha predator of the night that comes and takes our loved ones and our hopes, the ones that end us with eyes wide open in shock and a silent scream that was never herd and then we are gone. Nowhere to be seen or heard.

So be watchful.
Because it is out there.
They are out there.

And more than likely, as you read this, one has its ink black eyes on you this very second.
