Part 10 - History Repeats Itself

Rose’s POV

Today was the last day of our camping experience. Steven and I were having a wonderful time. Yesterday he had told me that he liked me, and my heart jumped. Granted he probably meant it as a friend and I knew he would forget about me as soon as I was gone, but it was nice to hear it regardless. We decided to spend the rest of the day hiking around the area. I wanted to see the sights, and Steven said he had a special place he wanted to show me.

He took my hand in his, and pulled me towards a path we hadn’t yet explored. We stopped by a little stream to rest about a while.

“After we rest for a minute or two, I want to show you this place I found once when I was out here with the guys a few years ago. It’s a little deeper in the woods.”

“Okay, I’m game,” I said. He led me about another hour before we finally reached out destination. It was a small waterfall surrounded a meadow of wildflowers. It was absolutely breathtaking.

“Come on, let’s go sit down,” he said, breaking my trance.

We sat down and both took off our shoes and socks. He laid out a small blanket he had brought with, and I walked to the edge of the pond where the waterfall was. I let my feet soak in the cool water and took in my surroundings. Steven joined me after a while. We sat down on the bank, and he took a hold of my hand. It felt right, so I didn’t pull back. Somehow my head wound up on his shoulder, and his arm wrapped around my shoulders. I was in heaven, just from that simple touch. He kissed my cheek and I felt sparks fly through my entire body just from touch of his lips on my skin. I turned my head to meet his lips with mine and when they touched it felt like I was being electrocuted. As the kiss deepened I began to run my fingers through his hair and I felt his hands on the small of my back, pulling me closer towards him. My heart was beating so fast that it sounded like it was going to explode right out of my chest. I pulled my lips back to catch my breath, but Steven’s found their way to my jaw line, I heard a small moan escape my lips. He pulled back and looked me straight in the eyes. His eyes were full of many emotions, the most dominant being lust, and sparkled like the water.  As our lips again met, Steven pulled me closer, and lifted me up and carried me over to the blanket.

For all I know time could have stopped in the world around us as Steven and I lay there in the meadow in each other’s arms. My body felt like the ocean; a wild current running through from my head to my toes, waves of emotion filling my brain that was drowning in the sheer essence that was Steven. The way he touched me, held me, moved with me, was magic. His hold on me now was a tight, but possessive, embraced that made me feel like I was his and he never wanted to let me go. Our heartbeats had calmed down and our breathing was in time. We laid there listening to the waterfall and the surrounding birds until the sun began to disappear behind the tall trees.

“Ready to head back?” he asked, pulling me closer.

“Not really, I really love it out here. I could stay forever.”

He chuckled. “I know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately, we’ve got to head back so we’ve got time to drive home, got to get back to the daily grind tomorrow.”

I sighed. I wished we could stay out here. It was just so peaceful, that all stresses from the outside world seemed to disappear. We gathered up our clothesand headed back to our campsite, hand in hand.

It was starting to turn to late afternoon as we packed up the remainder of our campsite. I took one last look around the forest as we pulled away in his truck. I would never forget this place, and I knew I would come back one day.
