A L E X I A
I nearly choked on Molly's wonderful meatballs.
"So let me get this straight, you thought Sirius was the Grim?" I asked my godson one last time, as he nodded embarrassedly I burst into laughter.
"I think there's something wrong with that Divination teacher of yours, any Seer in their right mind could tell the difference between a black dog and the Grim"
"Well Professor Trelawney isn't exactly in her right mind, that's why I quit. Divination wasn't really my forte" Hermione told me
"Rubbish! Anyone can read tea leaves and look into crystal balls if they have the right teacher" I said winking at her
"So why can't you teach us Mum? Dumbledore told me you were the most skilled Seer he'd seen in all of his days" Thalia asked me as she looked over at me, her grey eyes twinkling.
"If I suddenly show up in the wizarding world after fourteen years of me supposedly being dead I'd have to be interrogated a fair bit and I would not like that"
"Why not? You've done nothing wrong" My nephew Ron said to me
"What the Ministry doesn't know won't hurt them" I said taking a sip from my tea. "Now, different topic, who plays Quidditch for the Gryffindor team?"
Everybody put their hand up except for Hermione and Ginny and I smiled
"Following in my footsteps, I may cry" I said, faking wiping a tear from underneath my eye. "Positions?"
"Beater" Fred and George said in unison
"Sirius must like you"
"Chaser" Thalia said and I smiled
"You must be incredible at it"
"Seeker" Harry said smiling
"Just like James" { a/n I know James was a chaser in the books but it suits better if he was a seeker for this story }
"Keeper" Ron said and I high-fived him { a/n I also know Ron was keeper in fifth year and it hasn't started yet but just, shush}
"New favourite nephew" I said and everybody laughed except for Bill who frowned
"But I was always your favourite" he said faking sadness
"You were also the only one who never played Quidditch. Head Boy instead, cough cough suck up" I laughed and he threw a piece of spaghetti at me and stuck out his tongue.
"Aunt Mary's my favourite now" he said and I rolled my eyes
"That reminds me, where is Mary? We were the best of friends" I asked and Molly smiled sadly at me
"After you 'died' she moved to America because she couldn't deal with the pain of all three of her best friends either dead or worse"
"Three? I thought it was just Aunt Mary, Lily and you?" Ginny asked and the smile disappeared from my face
"Alice Longbottom" I said simply and Harry smiled sadly at me while the others looked confused
"Isn't that Neville's mum? What happened to her?" Hermione asked and a tear fell down my cheek
"Let's just say she had a fate worse than death" I answered and Sirius put his arm around me and squeezed
"Hey look at the bright side, at least you can visit her later" he whispered in my ear and I smiled at him. How I got someone so wonderful I don't know.
"Yeah, I guess I can" I said smiling up at him before remembering something I had to do.
"Hey Thalia?" I asked looking at my little girl who smiled up at me when I called her name "come with me, I need to show you something"
Sirius looked at me curiously but I just smiled plainly at him. "Nothing to worry about dear, I'll be back in about an hour" I pecked him on the lips which made all of his worry go away and was replaced by a wide grin
Thalia grabbed her coat and held my hand as I walked her out the door. Oh how I wish I could've watched her grow up.
