T H A L I A

It's been seven years since my parents left for their 'holiday'.

I figured out the truth when I was five and cried for days.

I didn't even say goodbye.

I was sitting at the head of the table on as the eleven other Weasley's conversed. Bill was back in town for Christmas and I was planning on interrogating him

"Hey Bill?" I asked and he turned his long head of ginger hair to face me. "Can I talk to you in private for a bit?"

We walked out into the yard and sat down on a bench. I watched as gnomes popped out of their holes and stole some of Aunt Molly's pumpkins.

"What is it, Thal?" (pronounced tahl) Bill asked concerned. They've grown to calling me Thal since 'three syllables is too mainstream'

"How old were you when my parents died?" I asked, still looking out at the garden filled with gnomes.

He sighed. "Eleven, I was in my first year at Hogwarts. It was Halloween night, Professor McGonagall woke me up and dragged me to Dumblebore's office. Mum and dad were standing there, red eyes and tear stained cheeks and mum was cradling you in her arms. I kind of figured it out by then."

"What were they like?"

"Your mum was-"

"No. I've heard enough about my mum, it's always Alexia this and Lex that. No, I wanna hear about my dad" I said turning and facing him. He was wearing a grim expression, no emotion whatsoever on his face

"I'm afraid I cant tell you much about him" he said and started to get up but I stopped him

"Why? Why can't anyone tell me anything about my dad? What was so bad about him that his own flesh and blood can't know about? I don't care if I'm only eight, I want to know about my dad" I raged and put my face in my hands

I looked up after a minute to find Bill kneeling down on the ground in front of me, his hand on my knee and his thumb rubbing circles on it

"Listen, I didn't know your father as well as I knew your mother but this is what I did know. He was a huge troublemaker, a quidditch fanatic and loved you and your mother so much. He was a good man that made all the wrong choices, you'll know someday"

With that he got up, brushed off the dirt on his trousers and walks back into the Burrow leaving me behind, very confused
