"So, how's everything going for the final task?" I asked, spotting the dark-haired boy laying upside down on the couch. I sat down beside him and tilted my head.
"My mind is being overblown with all these spells and hexes and charms and riddles and whatever the else I need for the task by Hermione," Harry replied, sighing and running his hand through his hair. He closed the cover of Basic Hexes for the Busy and Vexed and threw it onto the ground behind him.
"At least you have the weekend at Hogsmeade before the task," I piped.
"Right, because that's going to be so fun," he muttered, bringing himself upright.
"What's wrong?" I questioned before having a lightbulb moment. "Cho and Cedric by any chance?" He nodded and my heart tugged at his dismal face. The couple was pretty big news for Hogwarts, what with every female student's perfect man being taken off the market. "Well cheer up, it won't do anyone any good if you sit and just mull over it, Harry."
"Easy for you to say - you and George have been all loved up," he replied, a glint of jealousy in his eyes.
"W-w-we have not!" I squealed my face flushing lobster.
"Suuuure you haven't," he answered, prodding me before sighing. "I shouldn't take my problems out on you."
"It's ok. Friends are there for each other," I responded, giving him a light punch to the shoulder.
"Thanks, Lana." He smiled and then glanced over at his book. "Mind helping me with some hexes?"
"Can do." I pulled my wand out my robes. "But I warn you now; I won't go easy on you."
--
"Lana?"
I turned to the direction my name was called from and saw a saddened Fred.
"What's wrong?" I asked, nodding goodbye to some Hufflepuffs. I pulled off my dragonhide gloves and pulled out a stool.
"It's about Angelina," he muttered, taking a seat. As soon as he sat down, he buried his head in his hands. I waited for him to get to the point, washing the dung off my face. "She's been acting moody with me lately and I don't know why."
My mind flickered back to the other day when Angelina kept me up late as she complained about Fred -
"He took me out at Hogsmeade, which was really sweet of him, but do you know where he took me? Do you know where he took me?"
"Where did he take you?" I replied sleepily, willing my heavy eyelids to stay open.
"He took me to Zonko's!"
I rolled my eyes. "But he always takes you to Zonko's; he's Fred Weasley, the boy lives for his jokes, you know that."
"Yeah, of course, I know that, but I'd been hinting all week in preparation - I'd dropped so many comments about the couples' event that Madam Puddifoot's was hosting and I was so sure that he'd got the idea! I even wore my new heels - not that he even noticed..."
"Two words," I began, "Madam. Puddifoot." Fred's eyes searched mine for an answer, to no avail.
"I...I don't...huh?" He paused before having a lightbulb moment. "Oh. Oh!"
I nodded slowly.
He sighed, running his hand through his hair. This took me off guard - I never realised how much the twins looked alike when they had that ruffled, thinking look on their faces.
"It's ok," I said, grabbing my bag and robes. "Just buy her a present and apologise; she digs the soppy stuff."
"I guess..." Fred replied, jumping up to join me as we left for Gryffindor Tower. "I wish she'd just told me straight out though, instead of dropping her hints."
"Hey, women never tell you upfront about something; you either have to guess or you have to pry it out of them. Life advice," I retorted, giving him a wink. "Women are mysterious creatures, you have a lot to learn about us."
"Oh god," he answered, feigning shock horror, "does my poor twin have to deal with this treatment as well?" He grabbed his chest and shuddered. "What terrors!"
I laughed, shoving him to the side. He chuckled and pretended to fall before catching himself and grinning.
"But seriously," he continued, "are all women like this? Because, man, I don't think I'll ever get the hang of it."
I shrugged. "I just say what I want. It usually works."
We entered the common room and was met with Angelina, George and Lee standing at the bottom of the stairs. Seeing her boyfriend, Angelina's face lit up, but remembering she was currently in-a-mood with him, she tried to conceal it.
"Hey Lana," George greeted, planting a kiss on the top of my head.
"Hey loser," I smiled. "Heya Lee," I greeted. He shook his head at the sight of the four of us, Angelina trying her best not to smile as Fred whispered in her ear.
"I need to get myself a girlfriend," he grumbled.

A/N: So...I finally updated. I'm sorry, please don't kill me T_T
I know it's short, but I've been editing the story and I plan on releasing a newer, better version once I've done with this. It may or may not have extra scenes, deleted scenes and/or more soppiness. It depends where I see fit.
But yeah...two more chapters, kk?
(Srsly, dun kill me. It'll hurt ;-;)
