Zayn's POV

I held in the tears as people spoke about my Mum, standing on the small stage as they I'd their words of love and mourn over the passing of her.

I didn't feel as though it was my time to cry, my hands felt sweaty, but that was due to the fact I'd be speaking next.

Justin and Niall were either side of me, both had watery eyes and Niall even had a few tears. They sat their to support me, and I loved them even more for that.

"Tricia's eldest and only son, Zayn, would like to say a few things also." The short woman hosting the funeral spoke at the stand.

I knew that was my shot to stand and go up, so I did.

I stood in front of the sixty or so people in the room, and looked down at the piece of paper I'd spent hours writing on.

Nervous, that was a way to word my emotion at this stand. I cleared my throat, ready to begin my speech.

"Tricia, my mum, we were always close when I was young." I smiled at the thought, "She'd stand up to all my bullies, even when I was at the age of knowing how to deal with them myself. She wouldn't let anyone push me around, because as she out it, I was her baby boy." I wanted to laugh at that name, the name that embarrasses so many guys, "I didn't get to have the proper goodbye I hoped for, but I know she's smiling down at me, probably saying we never needed a goodbye, because she'll continue to watch over me like the mother she is." I licked my lips, "She's always been kind hearted, and its tragic that she was taken so soon, but I know she lived a life with no regrets, because she was a role model, and inspirational to not only me, but everyone she knew."

Zeke's POV

My breathing was slow, and I was ready to open my eyes. I felt like I had been asleep for a century, but I knew it wouldn't have been that long.

All I could hear were the annoying sounds of a beep, and quiet whispers.

I weakly cracked my eyes open, and heard a gasping noise.

It wasn't bright, like I was expecting it to be, actually, it was almost dark.

"Zeke?" The sound of my brothers voice spoke.

I blinked a few times as the hazy and blurred surroundings became clear, Jake was hovering over me, his face concerned.

"I-" I went to talk, but began to panic as I felt something literally down my throat, my eyes widening as I gagged.

"Calm down, its okay," Jake rubbed my shoulder, "Its a feeding tube, the nurses are coming to take it out, relax." Jake said.

I was uncomfortable at the feeling, wanting it to end. Just as I thought no one would come to my aid, two nurses and a doctor entered the room.

"We weren't expecting you to be awake so early," the doctor smiled, "We would have had the tube removed faster." He said, as the nurses walked over and flicked a few switches.

I noticed Perrie in the room, sitting on a chair. She was smiling at me, her eyes seeming to hold tears of joy.

"I need you to stay absolutely still, Zeke, its very dangerous to remove feeding tubes if the patient panics. Alright?" The doctor said, and I struggled to nod.

With that, the nurses held my arms, while the doctor disconnected a few things. Slowly he began pulling out the tube, which only made me squirm and whine at the feeling.

Soon the feeling stopped, and I was able to breathe better and feel comfortable.

The doctor had got the tube out, and it was over.

He smiled at me, "There will be a meal cart for you in the morning." The doctor said, before exiting with the nurses.

"God, thank the lord you're alright." Jake instantly hovered over me again, ruffling my hair, "How are you feeling?"

I croaked out, my voice weak, "I feel funny."

"I'm so glad you're awake, I was worried for you." Jake frowned.

"Jason?" I instantly asked, my throat burning almost.

Jake sighed, "I don't know, his brother won't allow us to see him or ask about him."

I frowned, "Where's everyone?"

"They all went back home, to the UK, and once you're better, we're going back home too." Jake said.

Perrie came over, "I was having a heart attack when we couldn't figure out where you were."

I sighed, "I'm sorry, I'm still tired."

"Its alright, its 1am, and you need the rest." Jake smiled, "Sleep tight, bro."

I nodded, my eyes fluttering closed as my thoughts went to Jason, wanting to know if he's alright, if he's awake like I am, but for now I was tired.
