Chapter 7

It took a couple of minutes for my order to be done, but I got it. I was talking to Sal while eating my nice delicious food. We were catching up for the times I missed for the last five years.  I never smiled so much then I did now. I was about to put food in my mouth when someone slammed their hands down on the table we were sitting at. I looked up to see Kiefer and Theo both standing there. Kiefer looking enraged, while Theo looked relieved. Nah that can’t be a relieved face that must be a ‘damn brat had everyone worried for nothing’.

“You know how long I’ve-we’ve been looking for you,” Kiefer spoke through gritted teeth. It can’t be that late. Looking out the window I notice the sun was setting.

“Sorry I didn’t know it was getting late”

“Well now that we found you, that’s one thing crossed off my list of worries to worry about,” Kiefer sat down next to me while Theo sat beside Sal trapping him in the booth.

“hehe...” Kiefer banged his head against the table. Instead of stopping him like a normal person would, we all just watched. After a few short bangs he rested his head against the hard surface, “hey Levi could you do me a favour and not just disappear like that.”

“Yeah sure man,” I gave a confused look to Theo hoping he knew what was wrong with Kief all he did was shrug his shoulders.

“Did I tell you guys that Aviva is pregnant and that she wants to move up the wedding date before she starts to show,” his face was still down, but Theo and I were shocked as hell from the news.

“What you never told us this,” was my only response.

“No? Well now you know.”

It was silent not an awkward silence or comfortable one of just silence as in what can someone say in this situation. It was Kiefer’s choice and I know he’ll make the right one. The door open signalling people walked in. Macy the waitress I found out her name when she gave my food went to the group of teens asking them what they wanted and left to the back to give to the cook.

“Man I can’t believe he would do that?” a boy’s voice sound angry and sad.

“It’s Bryce of course he would do that,” another boy's voice chimed in.

“Not to mention he’s out right dick with something against us,” so far I get that there is two boys and a girl with a foul mouth. Those voices sound familiar.

We got in pretty late, but I made my way to my room. I wasn’t tired so I just went back down stairs and walking out the back patio door and towards the dock. I had a blanket with me because it was cold. The moon was out and I need time to myself to think. I was just sitting there thinking about that time. I never knew I could hate someone so much until that day. Not mention it was my own brother and my best friend. All they did was stood by and watched. I felt my eyes water I shook my head trying to forget it, but the images kept coming like a silent movie playing over and over again in my head.

I felt a hand on my shoulder scaring the hell out of me, but at least it pulled me out of that nightmare. Looking up I saw Theo standing there, without a word he sat down and pulled me to his side. As if to lend me his should I could cry on. Why is he being nice to me? For as long as I known Theo he would never do this for anyone.

“You know that everyone that house cares about you, right?” Theo spoke softly as if not to disturb the peace and quiet of the outside.

“I know, but,” sighing I knew I had to at least tell someone, “You don’t know how hard it was to forget this town. How hard I wanted to leave and now I’m back here. Back where it all started.”

Theo didn’t say anything he just let me rant and lean on him.

“How about this?” he spoke pushing me away gently, “I tell about me, but in exchange you tell me about you. And I don’t mean little things I mean everything. Deal?” I chewed my bottom lip thinking it over. Should I or shouldn’t I? I mean who wouldn’t want to know more about Theo.

Looking straight into his eyes I gave my answer.
