Chapter 8

Looking straight into his eyes I gave my answer, “Deal.” I would have shook hands, but Theo had something else in mind which was kiss to my cheek. I was too surprise to say anything better yet I didn’t even realise that I was being dragged back into the house with Theo holding my hand and leading me to my room. I was in such a daze that my brain just shut down. Not even bothering to take my sleeping pills I just lie down on my bed and fell asleep.

I was up the next morning just looking straight at the ceiling, why you may ask? It’s because when I first woke I felt something heavy around my waist and very warm. I turn to look behind me to find Theo was the one that was holding me.  I also realized that I didn’t have the reoccurring dream.  That’s a first. So I choose to just lying in bed with Theo holding me and with all sorts of questions flowing through my mind. But the main one that kept coming back to me was ‘did I really agree to that last night?’ Was I even ready to tell anyone, when I can’t even face what happen.

I felt Theo’s arm shift and him getting up looking around while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

“Fuck can this room be any brighter,” he flopped back down. I was frozen for a bit because this is basically the first time that I ever spent time with Theo alone. I always made sure someone was around when I had to talk to him. It’s not that dislike him or scared of him. Ok who am I kidding he scared the hell out of me especially when he just knew when I didn’t feel comfortable in certain situations or anything of the sorts that require me going out of my comfort zone. He always came to my rescue.

“Well you didn’t have to sleep here,” I mumble sitting up pulling my knees to my chest and my putting my chin on top while looking out to the lake.

“No I didn’t, but I was too fucking tired to walk all the way back down. And besides someone didn’t let go of my hand”

I whipped my head to face him to see a smirk on his face without thinking I grabbed the pillow and whipped it at his head. This then led to a mini pillow fight to which sadly I lost.

“You suck!”

“Yeah, well you swallow,” I blushed hard when he said that. So I grabbed the pillow I was using to have a pillow fight and put it over my face to cover up. When I didn’t hear any laughing of the sort I peeked from under the pillow to see Theo just staring at me.

“What do I have something on my face?” hey it was the first thing that came to mind.

Theo shook his head and came lying down beside me, “no it’s just this is the first time I actually saw you smile that wasn’t forced.”

“Huh?!”

“Oh come on like you never noticed that you never smiled a real smile even before we came here. It was always forced,” Theo shifted his body to lay on his side just to talk to me.

“What does me smiling have to do with anything”

“Everything”

“So that deal last night, are you really going to go through with it?” that was one of many other questions that I was asking myself.

“A deals a deal,” he got up, “I’m gonna get something to eat,” before walking out Theo stopped without turning around, “Levi just so you know I’m not going to force you to tell me. I will wait for you to tell me. And just know I’ll never judge you because of it and I love you,” with that said he closed the door leaving me with my mouth wide open and feeling very confused.

I looked at the clock to see that in was quarter passed three. Wow, I spent all morning sleeping and most of the afternoon hanging out with Theo and alone. I need to get out of here and think.

I came down after taking a shower and change into a board shorts with a black tee shirt. The first person I saw was Kiefer cooking some food. The only time he cooks fancy is when Aviva is around. He says she makes him when we all know he likes cooking for her. I walked into the living room to see everyone watching a movie, including Aviva. Not wanting to disturb them I quietly walked out.

Making my way around town brought back so many memories, some good and some bad. Man how this town has changed. I remember it use to have very few stores now it has all sorts of stores mostly brand names shops. Not to mention a McDonald’s and a Wal-Mart along with a multiplex theatre. I remember last night events and decided to go back to the diner and catch up some more with Sal while walking down the street I got stares from many people. Some pointing and whispering and some taking second glances.

Yeah so don’t miss this part. I was always the talk of this stupid little town. Hey it’s not my fault I was born or was made blame by a woman who decided to keep me. I walked into the diner passing two guys holding hands and sat in my usual spot. Not taking notice of them because I was in my own little world. This is going to be a long vacation.
