 Chapter 6

Levi's P.O.V

Waking was no easy task I tell you. I felt like heavy led trying to lift myself out of bed. Bed I open my eyes looking around and then sprung up fast. I started having a panic attack.

No, no, no, no....I ran to the bathroom rummaging through the cabinet. I heard feet stumping and the door flying open. Standing there were Kiefer, Theo, Seven and Knox all looking wide eye at me.

“Shit!” Kiefer went running away then suddenly come running back and handing my pills. Taking them dry since I was too busy panicking to even bother to get water. Kiefer let out a sigh of relieve, while the others untensed and walked back to where ever they came from. Walking out the bathroom and taking notice of my surrounding I notice that we were in a house that was by the lake. I could only tell because you can smell the lake and hear the noise of boats going by. How long have I been asleep?

I walked back into the room I came from and notice that my bags and other things were all piled into the corner and that the room had a big bay window. It overlooked the lake, well instead of four whole walls I got the room that let in a lot of sunlight. Figures they would give me this room, no likes getting up early and since I have a hard time going to bed and I get up early. Oh well. Well the window I was looking out was a glass wall window two and each side making a corner.

Oh goody I get to see our neighbours and they get to see me. Note to self get a curtain or build something to block that one side. I went to my bag getting white wife beater top and shorts also grabbing my toiletries that I would need to take a nice cold shower to calm my nerves.

After taking a shower and getting dress, I walked down to see wide open space that you can see the kitchen, living room, dining room and the main door.  Taking a seat at the kitchen island I put head in my hands.

“Have a good sleep?” Kiefer piped up and putting a plate of eggs in front of me.

“You are aware it’s not even morning right?” I looked up from the plate to see that I was the only that was getting breakfast in the afternoon.

“Hey don’t be picky and besides it’s the only thing I know how to cook. If you wanted something fancy then you shit of luck cause Nico and Novah left early this morning to go explore the town,” Kiefer was cleaning the frying pan he used, “we had the good breaky while you get my crappy breaky,” he chuckled to himself.

Shrugging my shoulder I picked up the fork and started eating. I was about to ask where to other where, when I heard yelling and gunshots from the next room and someone yelling ‘take that bitch’.

I finish eating my somewhat good breakfast and cleaned plate since Kiefer was already in the living room with the rest of the guys.  Standing near the sink and looking out to the lake I started thinking. Man it’s been so long since I last seen this lake. I had some happy memories of this town. I wonder if I should go see how much it changed since these five years I’ve been gone.

I was done cleaning my dish I ran up stairs to grab my cell, iPod and wallet just in case I stop to buy something. I ran back down as I descending the stair I literally ran into Theo who was coming up stairs. My face was on his chest and he was lying flat out on his back. Oh man not good.

“What the hell?” Theo looked straight into my eyes and grunt then tossing me to the side so he could get up and went upstairs. Weird. Oh well, I continue out the door without telling anyone. I mean really what’s going to happen?

I was in town walking looking around, man it sure has changed. I remember there use to be a store where everything you want was in one spot. Now there were all sorts of stores and some new restaurants. I hope that old diner still open. I was still looking around and something caught my eye the diner I use to go to was still open. Giving a small smile I made way to it. Opening the door and I smelled the same familiar smell it had since I left. The smell was indescribable to tell anyone, but to me I know it’s one I know I’ll never find anywhere else.

I felt my stomach give a growl. I guess that small breakfast Kiefer made wasn’t enough. I took a seat in my favourite spot. It was in the far corner near the window that faced the street and it was also it a point of view vantage.  In case of my tormentors came in and I could easily sneak out the back way. Sal always let me do that. He was one of the few people I trusted in this town. Speaking of Sal I wonder if he is here.

A waitress came up to me looking about 23 or so, “So what you getting hun?”

Not even bothering to look at the menu I order my unusual food I use to always get here, “I’ll get a big bowel of fried rice with bacon bites in it with a side order of baked potato and a hamburger plain with nothing on it and I’ll get orange/strawberry/banana shake,” I looked up since I was looking down.

“We don’t have that on our menu,” she looked confused as hell, but shrugged and went to put my order in. I heard some yelling then the swinging door to the kitchen burst open. Standing there was Sal, he may have aged in number, but he still looks the same. Old, gentle, kind and eyes were red as if about to cry. Walking up to my table, I got out being face to face with the man who was the only one to cares about me. Grabbing my shoulders Sal brought me into a tight embrace and I felt his tears dripping down onto my shoulders and cheek. I didn’t care I hugged him back. For one moment I didn’t care if we were being watched that we were getting crazy looks.

Pulling away Sal put both hands on my face, “You look so different from last time I saw you boy,” another tear fell from his face, “it looks good on ya.”  I knew what he meant and that brought a full smile to my face.
