Chapter twenty-two

“Alex do we have to go inside I mean we can just turn around now before its too late” I huffed in annoyance. “No Sammy no.” Once Alex set her mind to something it would never change and when I say never, I mean never. She knocked on the door and a very chirpy Jai Brooks answered. He kissed Alex on the cheek and I stared in awe, he then embraced me in a hug. “Luke misses you,” He whispered in my ear. “I know, I miss him too” I replied back with a shaky voice. I stepped inside and saw a sleepy Daniel laying on the couch and a hungry James eating some choc chip cookies. But Luke. He was nowhere to be seen. “Hey Jai have you seen my-” Luke’s words were cut short when he saw me. Maybe I spoke too soon. I smiled at him and he just nodded. I think he knew I was upset to the max. I turned around as quickly as possible because I didn’t want to stare at his rock hrd abs. Yes this was pretty hard for me. I walked over to James and stole one of his cookies. “Hay I was saving these for later” He whined, which made me laugh. “Grow up kid” I laughed then smacked the back of his head. “Hey anyone wanna do something today?” Beau asked while walking down the stairs. He greeted Alex and I by hugging us both. I wasn’t so sure of the whole idea. “Uh I’m probs just going to go home and rest, not feeling too well” I whispered. I got up but soon enough a hand dragged me back down to my seat. “You aren’t going anywhere, you and Luke are sorting this out!” Alex whisper yelled. I sighed and crossed my arms. “What did you have in mind?” I questioned with a fake smile. “We could go laser tagging?” Daniel questioned while hopping up from the sofa. “Well rise and shine sleepy head” James said in a high-pitched voice which caused everyone to laugh. “Sounds like a plan” Alex smiled and clapped her hand together. In the corner of my eye I saw Luke walk back up the stairs. Maybe it was time a talked to him.

I was now outside his bedroom door. Why was I so nervous? I shook my head and opened the door. He was putting on a t-shirt. His back muscles were in perfect view. I couldn’t help but stare. He turned around and let out a small smile. “Hey” He whispered. “Hey” I spoke back. “Okay look Sammy you have been ignoring me for 3 fucking weeks, I’m going crazy here” Luke let out quickly. “And there it is” I spoke in annoyance. “Oh come on Sammy, I’m hurting here” Luke chuckled. “And you don’t think I am, you don’t think I want this all to go away? My life has been a mess okay and what I experienced with you is something I never thought I would come across in my whole entire life” I ranted. “What do you want me to say, I’m sorry? Because I have” Luke spoke back. I heard the sadness in his voice. I nodded. “I know, I know you are.” “What are you so afraid of Sammy?” Luke asked me. I stood silent for a couple minutes, which felt like a couple of years. I was hoping this question would never come up, but I guess bad luck was on my side tody. “What are you so afraid of?” He asked me again. “IM AFRAID OF LOSING YOU” I blurted out. I rubbed my temples. “I’m afraid of losing you,” I repeated. Luke looked shocked. Could you blame him though?  “We should go, the others are waiting.” I stated and hesitantly left the room before he could answer.

“IM BEATING YOUR ASS BITCH” Alex screamed in my face. Who knew that she could be so competitive? I took off my vest and placed it down. Gosh I was beaten today, and when I mean beaten I mean legit beaten. I lost every game, but I didn’t care it just made me laugh. Oh and an update on Luke and I. We haven’t talked the whole day. Its like we blocked each other out mentally and physically. “Hey there.” I looked up to see James standing above me. I waved at him and he sat down next to me. “So how you holding up?” He asked. “Honestly I have been better” I sighed. I saw James frown. “Just go talk to him” He suggested. “I want to, I really do but I just cant” I informed James. “You got to some day, I mean 3 weeks is a long time.” He did have a point. Ah I hate how everyone is right. I nodded and hugged James. He caught it off by surprise but he hugged me back anyway. I stood up and James gave me the ‘go on’ look. I whispered thanks and walked up to Luke. “Hey” We both said in sync. I slightly giggled. “Look we have to talk,” We said in sync once again. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear and looked into Luke’s eyes. “I can’t believe you lost every game of laser tagging” Luke laughed. I slapped him on the arm and joined in laughing. “It’s been forever since I heard you laugh.” Here come the butterflies. “Look Sammy I’m really really sorry” Luke breathed out. “Luke, its okay” I smiled. The ends of his lip slightly curved. “COME ON LOVE BIRDS, WE ARE HEADING HOME” Beau screamed. I laughed while Luke just sighed. “It’s all right we will continue this at home” I reassured Luke.

“What a day” Jai sighed as he sat on the couch. We all nodded and agreed. Luke looked at me and I think I got what he was trying to say. I nodded and smiled. He got up and I followed him to his room. “REMEMBER SAFE SEX” I heard Alex call out. My cheeks instantly started to blush. I closed Luke’s door and the first thing he did was hug me. “I promise I will never break your heart again.” Luke whispered into the crook of my neck. “Its not that, I’m worried for you” I sighed while hugging him back. I guess it was time to sort things out right? I cupped his face and looked into his eyes. Those beautiful brown eyes. “I’m sorry I didn’t talk to you for 3 weeks or contact you. Its just I love you so damn much and I don’t want to lose you. I’m afraid of that.” I finished off. Luke didn’t say anything he just crashed his lips onto mine. My lips responded quicker than my thoughts. I kissed him back and it made me realize how much I had missed his lips on mine. His lands traveled down my body while mine were around his neck. “I’m always going to be here” Luke said in-between kisses. “Good, you better be” I replied back. He started to kiss down my neck, which caused me to moan. “Fuck that’s been awhile since I have heard that” Luke laughed. He placed another kiss on my lips and pulled away. I pouted and grabbed him by his collar. “Nuh uh we aren’t done,” I whispered. I crashed my lips back onto his and he smiled through the kiss. “If you say so, boss” He replied back. He pushed me up against the wall and kissed me harder. I really did miss this. I tugged on the hem of his shirt. “Want it off?” He whispered. I nodded seductively. Luke took off his shirt and I dragged my fingers across his abs. I licked my lips and kissed his neck. Then the best idea came into my head, I decided to be a bit of a tease. I pushed Luke on to the bed and climbed on top of him. I was trying so hard not to burst out laughing. I started kissing his lips, then his neck, chest, abs and once I got to the band of his jeans I kissed the top of his v-line. I heard him groan which instantly made me laugh. He finally understood what I was doing. “Sammmmyyyyy how could you do this to me” He shivered and ran his fingers through his hair. Then his phone started to vibrate. “SAVED BY THE RING” I screamed while hoping off him. “We aren’t finished Jones.” I found it sexy when he called me by my last name. Luke answered his phone and his facial expressions changed from happy to worried. He talked for a good few minutes. “Luke?”

“My mum, she’s out” He stated. I got up and hugged Luke. “That’s amazing baby” I smiled. “No Sammy its not, I’m the one that put her there in the first place, she doesn’t want anything to do with me.” My heart ached. "And just when we were about to go through with something" Luke pouted. I laughed at his cuteness. "I'm scared Sammy." Luke breathed out. I walked up to him and pecked his lips. "There is nothing to be scared of Luke, whatever happens I am always here."
