"You know what we're doing is wrong."

TW: murder, continuation of the last prompt

"I'm getting back at him, mark my fucking words," Ethan growled, tearing at their hair. "You didn't fucking tell me that he was talking to the others to figure out how to get away from me. I was just trying to protect him!"
Remus shrugged, walking over to Ethan's side. "Your 'protection' was a bit extreme, I'll admit that. You hitting him when he was leaving though? That was too far, dude."
Ethan whipped around and bared their teeth, fangs sliding out from where they hid. "Shut the fuck up, Remus."
Another shrug, and Remus dropped into his couch. "I'm just saying dude, I'm not at all surprised his friends noticed."
"They're not his fucking friends, Remus, they're bad for him," Ethan tugged at their hair again, hissing. "Have you seen the looks Logan gives him? He's going to do something to Patton, I know it." They continued pacing, probably wearing a mark into the carpet. Suddenly their shoulders dropped and they turned to Remus, eyes alighting as an idea hit them. "I know," they said, grinning. "We'll kill one of them."
Remus's eyes widened. "Ethan, are you feeling okay?" He asked. "You're not one to do something illegal. That's my area of expertise. Killing someone, though? I've never done that before."
Ethan's expression was wild, and they smirked at Remus, tilting their head tauntingly. "Scared, are you?"
"No," Remus said firmly. "I've never done anything above shoplifting and smoking in areas where that's banned. I don't think you're in the right state of mind for this."
"Coward."
Remus's left eye twitched. "Fine, shithead, what's your plan?"

Ethan led the way through the shadows, closing in on the target.
Remus's heart pounded in his chest, filling his body with adrenaline. His limbs trembled and he tried his hardest to not brush against the bushes.
"There," Ethan whispered. "He's alone."
Remus rolled his shoulders. "So are you."
Ethan twisted, eyes shining in the darkness. "What?" They hissed.
"You know what we're doing is wrong," Remus growled, fighting the urge to just fucking bite Ethan. Not in a kinky way, either. "We can't kill someone."
"Then don't," Ethan breathed. "I will. This is my revenge."
"He's not alone," Remus murmured, nodding to the second figure.
Ethan turned again, eyes slitting in shock. "Fucking Spider-Man is with him? What the fuck?"
Remus shrugged. "Good luck winning in a fight against Spider-Man, I'm not with you." And with that, he backed away from Ethan and stepped out from the bushes. He pondered warning Spider-Man, then decided the Avenger didn't need any help. Ethan was stupid to think they were going to win against an Avenger.
The bushes rustled and Ethan shot out from them, half shifted and a lot taller than normal. Virgil shrieked and Spider-Man webbed him up and out of the way a few seconds before Ethan landed.

Remus watched, frozen with morbid curiosity.
Ethan jumped at Spider-Man, seemingly changing tactics. He webbed Ethan's forearms together and threw them away from Virgil, turning slightly to ask Virgil something. Remus didn't catch the response, far too far away to lip-read.
Twisting, Ethan ripped their arms free from the webbing and jumped back toward Spider-Man and Virgil, crouching there and growling something out.
"You made Patton leave me!" They howled. "You're going to fucking pay!"
Virgil stumbled back, feet slipping on the tiles, and Ethan shot forward, past Spider-Man, and slammed into Virgil.

Sending him off the roof.
Remus froze, eyes going wide. He stepped back and pulled out his phone, dialling 911 with trembling hands. It rang, and rang, and rang...
"911, what's your emergency?"
"I need an ambulance. And the police." Remus answered the questions, watching the fight with wide, horrified eyes.
"The emergency teams have been dispatched. Thank you for calling." The phone call ended and Remus dropped his phone back into his pocket, glancing up at the fight.
Ethan was now holding Virgil over the edge of the building, drool dripping from their jaws. They were almost fully transformed. Spider-Man was pulling at their shoulder and trying to get Virgil to safety, but at this point Ethan was too strong.

Sirens rang through the air, heading toward somewhere else.
Remus stepped back toward the shadows again, pulling his hood over his head and watching with slitted eyes. He felt an energy building within him, itching to join the fight. But which side would he fight for?
"You're dead meat, Virgil," Ethan snarled. "You're a stupid man, you know?"
Spider-Man seemed to basically vibrate with rage. He shot a web at Ethan and yanked them his way, then shot forward and pulled Virgil up to the roof. He attached a web to Virgil and lowered him down to the ground, letting him run.
Ethan tore at the webs on their shoulder, ripping them and the fur in that patch with it. They faced Spider-Man, eyes glowing a vibrant yellow.
"You cannot stop me," Ethan howled. "I will rip Virgil to shreds. He will not survive."
The eyes on Spider-Man's face narrowed and he shot a web at Ethan, pulling them forward to punch them in the face. Ethan stumbled, eyes widening minimally with shock. Virgil looked back up at Spider-Man, eyes going wide.
"Spidey-!"
Spider-Man's precognitive sense warned him of the blow and he danced away from Ethan, earning a guttural roar. Ethan bounded toward Spider-Man and leaped, slamming into him and sending him flying off the roof and crashing to the ground. Ethan turned and locked their gaze onto Virgil.

Virgil turned and ran again.
Remus stepped out of the bush, let Virgil run past, and strode into Ethan's path. He could feel the beast inside him itching to escape, to be let out, to join the fight.
"What are you doing?" Growled Ethan.
Remus shrugged, curling his back as fur ripped out of him. "Stopping you."
"You said you wouldn't."
"I changed my mind." Remus grinned, tongue flicking out between his rapidly sharpening teeth. "I do that a lot."
Ethan bared their teeth, kicked at the ground and charged Remus. Sidestepping, Remus flicked out a clawed hand and caught Ethan in the cheek, earning him a pained snarl.
This is fun, Remus decided. Shoulda done this sooner.
Remus attacked Ethan, pushing them back and away from Virgil. Ethan howled and tried to duck past but Remus blocked them, slamming them into the ground and biting their shoulder.
Ethan yelped, battering Remus with everything they had. Though it wasn't enough; Remus's eyes were full of a feral hunger, longing for victory. Remus battered Ethan's face, scored his claws over their chest and roared in their face.

The police arrived, sirens piercing the night. Remus took a step back from Ethan and shut his eyes, shifting back to his human form. He pulled his hoodie over his face and cast a gaze down on Ethan.
"You can't stop me," they rasped. "This is merely a setback. I can still get Virgil. I can still get my revenge."
Remus shook his head, amusement dancing in his emerald eyes. "You're a fool," he told the other. "Spider-Man will protect Virgil with his dying breath. You're not getting your revenge, give it up."
"Never."
The police ran forward and surrounded them, guns aimed at Ethan. Remus stepped away and the police let him through.
"That's the animal," Remus said. "I knew them, unfortunately. Their name is Ethan, and they prefer they/them pronouns. Have fun trying to sedate them."
The police cast wary glances at each other, inching closer to Ethan. They made no move to protect themself from the police, and so they were arrested.

The next week, news reached Remus that Ethan had escaped, gone on a murderous rampage through Queens, stole a gun and shot Virgil through the heart. Spider-Man had vanished from the scene, Virgil's dying corpse in tow.
