Chapter 25

A week after the funeral we left New Orleans. As much as we both didn't want to leave the three girls behind and Shiela we had to carry on with our  lives. August has to get back to business and I have to continue with opening my art studio. And I still have to go for a check up at the doctor regarding my pregnancy. I'm still getting sick every morning sometimes I even get sick during the day or at night and vomit every single day.I used to think I  eat a lot but now it's even worse.
I was curled up in August arms I've been wide awake for an hour now thinking about my baby and how my life is going to change.
"You should stop thinking so much" August said with his crusty morning voice.
"Hey babe I didn't think you were up"
"Well maybe if you stopped tossing and turning in bed I'de still be asleep"
"I'm sorry about that, a lot has been on my mind"
"You mean the baby?"
"Ya, I don't even know what kind of mother I'm going to be, is my baby even going to like me"
He moved and laid on top of me and I opened my legs so he could get more comfortable. His face was close to mine.
"Everything is going to work out ma, I've seen how you treat my three nieces and how great you are with them. I know for a fact you're going to be a great mom"
"Promise me you will be there every step of the way?
"I promise babe"
We laid there staring at each other taking in this moment. He was even perfect in the morning. I'm honestly still crazy about this man. He leaned in closer to kiss me and I slightly opened my lips to let him in. Our lips turned in sync as the kiss depend. He pulled away slowly and went down my neck giving me soft kisses causing me to breath louder. I was wearing a silky night dress which  gave him easy access to my panties. Instead of taking them off he moved them to the side. He quickly took off his underwear and inserted himself in me slowly. Working his way inside of me. His strokes were causing me to moan loudly as he went faster and deeper. I held his face with my hands and kissed him deeper. We both couldn't keep up with the kiss and our lips remained opened as load sounds came out of  them.

"I'm sorry you have to go through all of this ma ...if I could take it away I would" I got up to brush my teeth and when I was done August carried me to my bed.
"Can I rest for a little while babe"
"Of cause ma take all the time you need. I'm taking you to the doctor today"
"I don't feel like it August, besides I don't even know what I'm going to wear"
"Come on ma you know we have to do this. I'll look for something for you to wear. You know I have taste"
He was actually being serous. He went into my closet looking for an outfit for me. I'm actually not going to say anything let me see if he can get it right. He picked out a cute simple outfit, a white crop tshirt and navy blue leans with a cap and he actually matched my outfit.

"You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay em

I smiled on the side. I get gassed up when Eminem plays.
"Well you know I can spit a little something"
"Who knew that little body of yours could do such"
I punched him on the arm.
"Watch it" I said trying to be serous.
"Well you don't have to worry about me we've arrived"
"You made it sound like this doctor was so far August"
"No I didn't you're hearing things"
We got out the car and walked inside the building and there was a receptionist with blonde  hair.
"Morning, we're here to see Dr Dray"
"Morning sir, did you make an appointment for today"
"Yes we did we're  just a few minutes early today"
"Well that's ok, it's actually extra good"
She was smiling so hard at August, am I invisible to this  bitch? Please get me started I beg you.
"Mmmm can we see her now" I said disturbing her fantasy.
"Oh sorry ma'am I didn't notice you" she said giving me a fake smile.
"Well that's hard to believe because I'm standing right here"
"Right...well you guys can walk in she's waiting for you...it was nice meeting you sir ...I mean you both"
I didn't say anything back I just grabbed August arm heading towards the doctors office. I'm not letting an unprofessional girl ruin my day today.
After knocking a few times she opened the door for us to come in.
"Welcome I'm so glad you are here"
"Thank you Dr Dray" she shook our hands and atleast she had a friendly smile. She seemed to be around my mother's age. Which made me feel a little bit safer and comfortable.
"Well please have a seat Mr and Mrs Alsina"
"Oh we're not married yet" I said.
"Oh I apologize, can I call you by your first names?"
"Ya of cause"
"Well let's get straight to it. Congratulations to you both for being pregnant. But I'm going to do my own test to check if the results were clear or not. I'm also going to check for other things including your weight. Than after that we can proceed to the moniter.

We did exactly that and it only took us half an hour. When I was done I laid down on a stand that was set out for me. I pulled my jeans a little bit down and laid on my back. She rubbed this gel like substance on the bottom of my stomach.
"Its a bit cold I'm sorry about that"
"It's ok"
"Well it seems like you're 8 weeks pregnant Lyric. There is your baby"
She pointed at the screen  for us to look at.
"It's still a little ball for now but he or she will grow over time."
Looking at the screen brought me so much joy in my heart. I'm really going to be a mother. It was all sinking in at the moment. I felt August as he held my hand tightly.
"We made that baby" he said smiling at me. I was so glad to see him like this. Finally a glimpse of life was showing in his eyes.
We finished up and the doctor have me a little  book that had all the things  I needed to know about being pregnant. It kept track of my visitation dates and  my progress.
"Thank you so much Dr Dray, for everything" I said
"It's my pleasure I'm looking forward to our next visit. Don't forget to eat healthy and light food. Drink water. And everything will fall into place."
We said our goodbyes and  left the building.

We decided  to drive to the top of the highest hill. That was used to overlook the whole area. You could see every inch of  town from up there. And it was just a peaceful place to be at. We sat on top of the car overlooking the whole town.
"What did you think about today's session babe?" I asked looking at him.
"To be honest babe I don't think I've ever felt this happy in my life. My baby hasn't been born yet but I have a reason to live. I have someone whom I must take care of someone that needs me. I can't wait for the day I can hold her in my arms"
"Oh so its a girl"
"Defiantly no doubt"
"Oh August we shall see..I don't want to go deep into it today babe. But we need help, we need someone to talk to before we become parents. I don't want this child to be born into toxicity. I want us to be the best version of ourselves when the baby gets here"
"We can do whatever you want ma I'm down for it".
