Patton was alone in the house, his father was off drinking and sleeping around and his mother was off partying with college friends.

Patton went out to his backyard, the birds fluttered around him.

Smiling he held out a hold, his Index finger poking out as a bird landed there, "hello there Mr Robin."

It seemed to flutter his feathers, "oh I'm sorry, Mrs Robin. How are you?" The bird didn't respond, but either way Patton smiled, "what are you doing?" The teen could talk to animals easier. Not to mention he could say what he wanted without consequence.

A mouse scurried across the patio, squeaking in fear of a falling chair.

Patton spun around and caught the chair before it flattened the small creature, it seemed to stop in the corner and look at Patton curiously, who put the chair normal and sent the bird away, smiling.

Patton sat on the step and messed with the grass and flowers.

It's funny.

He was referred to as a sunflower, yet if went and stood in the sunflower patch at the back of his garden, they'd kick him out due to him being a weed.

The mouse stared at him as he looked longingly at the patch of bright, yellow sun flowers and made its way over.

It jumped onto Patton's lap and curled up.

Patton smiled slightly, happy that he at least had animals that accepted him.
