chapter thirteen

the whole other day, millie kind of just got quite. she barely spoke after lunch. i thought it was weird and when i wanted to talk to her, she just said she's busy and she has "things to do".

it's now the end of school and finn told me to go to the parking lot. it was also weird because finn didn't have a car. well at least i thought he didn't before.

i went to the parking lot and my eyes scan every corner of it just to find the shine. it wasn't long after i saw it. the smile he was putting on, his hands in the air, the car keys in his finger. i figured he passed the driving test.

i came running to him and give him a hug, he's always wanted to be able to drive a car since we were little. he said he would take me to school everyday so i don't have to wait for my uber and be late.

"i'm so happy for you, frog" i joked and he smiled even wider. he let go of the hug and told me that we were going to pick millie up and go to the mall, so we drove to millie's. the ride there was comfortably silent.

when we arrived at millie's, we knocked on the door and ava, millie's little sister, opened it.

"hi sadie! i missed you" ava hugged me in the legs because she was so short. it was so cute that my heart melted. i haven't been in millie's in a pretty long time because normally she would go to mine so seeing ava was a really welcoming thing.

i got to my knees and hugged her back. "hi, i missed you too" i said, with a huge smile in my face. "you're so big now".

ava laughed at that and i got back up. i asked where millie was and ava said she was in her room with a boy. my expression went from being all smiley to being worried. i quickly went upstairs, finn followed and knocked on her door.

"come in" millie screamed from her room. i went in first and my body instantly froze when i saw the boy sitting in her bed with her.

it was the person you all probably already predicted. yes, it was noah.

i've always has a crush on him if you don't remember me telling you that. to be honest with you, i still have a little feeling for him. i like finn with all my heart but noah will always have a special place in my heart.

"hey, sadie" noah said. finn could tell i was feeling uneasy so he touched my hand that was still on millie's doorknob. i felt so much comfortable.

"hi, what are you doing here?" i asked him. both millie and noah looked awkward but as a professional, i didn't really think much about it.

"nothing, me and millie was just chatting" he replied. "so, what are you guys doing here?"

"we wanted to invite mills to the mall" finn answered for me. now it was really awkward, me and finn in millie's bedroom door like we were her parents who caught her being alone with a guy in her room.

"i'm kind of busy so..." millie pointed out her eyes wider signaling that they were together.

my brain finally picked it up. "ohh okay, then i'll just go alone with sades" finn said and millie just nodded uncomfortably and i closed the door. fuck, that was so awkward.

we got out of her house and went back to finn's brand new car. i burst out laughing while finn was looking at me weird.

"what's so funny?" finn said kind of laughing at my silly act. i kind of giggled for a minute than answered his questioned.

"dude, that was so embarrassing" i said. i could tell finn knows something's up because his face doesn't really cooperate with my response.

"sadie, i know you still have feelings for him and i completely get it. i'm not gonna stop you from anything if it makes you feel okay"

what did i do to deserve this guy?

i kissed him and thank him for understanding. "first love" are the hardest to forget about.
