Kriya felt the colour drain from her face. Pretending to be his fiancée was already an emotional minefield, especially given how much she truly felt for him. She was barely holding it together, wrestling with her own heart while trying to put distance between them. But now, Don was pressing for a wedding—digging the nail deeper into her heart. She couldn't keep up with this charade, not when she was trying so hard to move on. The thought of going through with a wedding drama, only to be left empty afterward, felt like a cruel joke life was playing on her.

Kriya's heart felt like it was tearing in two. Pretending to be his fiancée was one thing—it was a challenge, but manageable if she kept her guard up. Yet now, the reality of Don's push for a wedding seemed like the final straw. How was she supposed to stand beside Reyansh, smile through it all, and play the role of a loving fiancée, when every stolen glance and touch only reminded her of what she could never truly have? The ache inside her grew heavier, like a weight pressing on her chest, suffocating her resolve.

Every moment spent pretending bound her to Reyansh in ways she couldn't handle, leaving her struggling between love and the painful need to let go. Going through with this wedding sham, even as a farce, would be her undoing. She wasn't sure how much more her heart could take before it shattered completely.

As if sensing the tension between them, Don leaned back with a smug look, eyes darting between Reyansh and Kriya. "So," he began, his voice dripping with mockery, "what's the hold-up, little prince? Still trying to figure out what it means to be a real man?"

Reyansh shot him a sharp look, jaw clenched, but held back his retort. Don continued with a chuckle. "You've got the girl right here, all pretty and proper. Yet, here we are, no wedding plans, no announcements...makes me wonder if you're just afraid to actually commit to something real for once."

Kriya glanced uneasily at Reyansh, sensing his rising fury. But Don wasn't finished. He leaned forward, his tone condescending as he added, "Or is it that you just don't know how to handle a woman like her? A queen doesn't just stand by anyone, you know."

Reyansh felt the urge to lash out, his fists tightening at his sides as he forced himself to stay silent. Inside, though, his frustration blazed, every word from Don feeling like a jab straight to his pride. In his mind, he cursed Don a hundred different ways, but he kept his expression controlled.

"Alright, Don, enough," Reyansh finally said through gritted teeth, his tone biting but controlled. "You'll get your show. Just wait."

"Ah! Really, you little bitch?" Don sneered with a smirk that stretched wider than ever. "I'm all set for your wedding, boy. Just give me a date, and I'll make sure it's a spectacle."

He let out a grating laugh, the kind that seemed to echo with satisfaction, and rolled himself out in his wheelchair, leaving Reyansh and Kriya staring after him, caught somewhere between disbelief and dread.
