(A story i was gonna write but it didn't last long, like most of my stories :/)

When I was younger, I was told many rumors and myths about the outside world. I heard that it was haunted and infested by spirits; blood thirsty spirits. It spooked all the other kids, but it didn't spook me. I believed all these rumors were just lies to keep us inside, to keep us from roaming away. I guess I wasn't the only one with such claims. My best friend Monika was also a non-believer. She didn't buy into these superstitious claims and wanted to roam the outside world. She wanted me to come with her too. But I denied. I had something in the back of my mind telling me that maybe it wasn't blood thirsty spirits out there, but something worse. I was obviously being stupid, what could be worst then blood thirsty spirits. Nothing, because they don't exist.

"Come on! Let's escape tonight. Me and you, rogue explorers who will be looked up to in decades for repopulating the outside world. Let's prove all these losers wrong by going out there. After all, spirits don't exist. It's scientifically impossible!" Monika rambled on. She was a big science fanatic. Which made her an easy target for the bullies. But I stuck by her side because she also was skeptical about these spiritual claims.

"No way, what if there are animals out there that want to kill us!" I rebutted back. Monika sighed and rolled her eyes at me.

"We can just kick their butts May. They may be scary but in the end we're the true predators." Monika argued back. I let out a huff of annoyance.

"Why don't we just wait until we're older and stronger. We still have more to learn about the outside world by these books." I said holding up a book
