For a year Tony waited for Loki, his heart broke every morning when he woke up knowing he wasn't there. The Tower itself was fixed now, it stuck out against the rest of New York. He would fly around it when it was freshly finished and become sad remembering that he had kicking out all the people he had specifically made places for.
So, alone in his Lab now, Anthony Stark stared at a life-size hologram of Loki. The one he had made the day after he had left, when his heart still felt. He was numb now, and whenever Bruce came by he only felt resentment towards him, same with the rest of the team but he still had to act as if it didn't bother him anymore.
He didn't have the music on, silence was surprisingly nice now. But, to his astonishment, there was a faint knock on the door. He heard the door open and he quickly turned around and his jaw dropped.
There, standing in front of him was Loki Laufeyson. He looked more handsome then last he had seen him. He looked happy even, and Tony without hesitating switched off the hologram and sprinted for Loki, who had open arms. He felt Loki stagger a small bit with the force but held on tight, as if his very life depended on him never letting go again.
"Anthony-" Loki began, grasping Tony tighter. He was back to his Godly ways again. He was fully powered and his beautiful green eyes seemed much brighter.
"Shut up!" Tony cried, tears were streaming down his face. "Not right now when I've just got you back! Please...." Tony sobbed and he breathed in heavily, he smiled and laughed even though he cried. Loki eventually let go of him and gave him a huge kiss on the lips.
"I've missed you Anthony."
"Diddo." Tony said to him, he hugged onto the taller man again and shivered.
"Are you alright?" Loki asked him.
"Yeah, yeah, it's just this past year has been to hard without you. Tower's fixed though, try not to demolish it while you stay."
"That's the thing Anthony, I can't stay." Tony's heart, which had fluttered up from his feet back to his chest, fell again.
"W-what do you m-mean you can't stay?"
"I can only stay for a short period of time, only a day or so at a time now. But, I can bring you back with me where you can stay for much longer periods. I have to give you that option because right this minute I am very pressed for time." Loki said, he struggled to get these words out and Tony knew it.
"Hell yeah, let's go to Asgard." Tony said almost as soon as he had finished speaking.
"Really?" Loki asked surprise thick in his voice.
"Yeah! But we'll have to come back every once in a while so nobody thinks I died."
"I don't care, so long as I have you, I will be happy." Loki said to him. "You may want to get together some clothing unless you would rather wear Asgardian clothes."
"OK, hold on." Tony called out to JARVIS who had a bag ready in minutes. Loki was wringing his hands waiting for him.
"Are you ready Anthony?" Loki asked when Tony finally came out with a bag of clothes, his toothbrush, and he surprisingly left his phone.
"Yep! Let's go Rock of Ages." Loki took no hesitation and grabbed his hand. a green magic swirled around and after feeling like he was going through a vacuum he opened his eyes and saw a completely different setting.
The room was decorated lavishly, drapes of dark green hung above open areas where windows should have been, the room itself was mostly golden but dim itself and huge torches and sconces of much smaller proportion provided light, two very tall golden doors were shut on one side of the room, bookshelves also adorned the walls, and right in between two windows was a bed.
"Damn, they have nice digs in Asgard don't they?" Tony asked putting his bag in a corner of the large room.
"Digs?" Loki asked, pulling at the gauntlets on his arm.
"Never mind. Where do you want me to put my things?" Tony asked, he was standing around awkwardly.
"Oh, er- leave it for now. Let me find you something to wear before we go meet Frigga."
"Who's Frigga?"
"My mother I guess."
"You guess?"
"She raised me mostly, Odin was always swayed towards Thor and she excepted me. Honestly just don't question it." He quickly got defensive over it, and his began to wring his hands again before speed walking into a separate room and began to look for something.
Tony walked to the window, watching small dots of people walking around slowly with billowing dresses and capes and robes. 'Please don't let Thor be coming here.' He thought when he saw a flash of lightening and heard a crack of thunder. From the separate room he heard Loki shriek.
"Lokes? You alright?" Tony asked walking near the room Loki was in. He came out gasping for a quick breath really fast.
"Yes! Yes, quite as you would say 'peachy'? Correct?"
"Stick to Asgardian tongue Lokes, its a real turn on."
"Maybe you could explain Midgardian terminology for me please? It confuses me at more lengths than you would believe." Loki said as he handed Tony the things in his hands. "You'll want to wear these, hopefully you find them comfortable. I'll be over there if you need me." He swept off towards the windows where Tony had just been. Tony watched him stiffen as he stared outside.
"Loki, are you OK?" Tony asked pulling off his shoes and jeans. Loki didn't answer just nodded curtly and watched outside still. Tony bowed his head as he yanked on the Asgardian clothing. He fell on the floor as he put on his pants. He heard Loki laugh, oh, how he loved that laugh.
"Are you alright Anthony?" Loki asked walking over to help pick him up. Tony had gotten the pants on only one leg and then he gave a pitiful smile.
"Help?" He asked softly, when he was standing up.
"Sure, hold still." Loki set out to pull on the pants. He shoved Tony's other leg into the panthole, and Tony almost fell forward put Loki put a hand on his chest to straighten him. Soon he had the red and golden pants on him, Tony wriggled awkwardly in the pants. Loki laughed so hard he had to sit down on the bed.
"Alright shut up!" Tony said, even though he started laughing himself too. He found the boots and made it seem like he couldn't put those on either, Loki rolled his eyes and strapped him in these too.
"Anthony, you can put your own shirt on I assume?" Loki asked, still chuckling every few minutes softly.
"I'll try dear." He said with a voice. Loki sat back down on the bed and he crossed his right leg over his left leg and put his hands beneath his head. Tony grunted as he tugged on the leather and metal, but he did it by himself mostly. He got as far as getting it on and making sure that his Arc Reactor was hidden well enough, it didn't glow against the golden chest plate that had huge sweeping swirls on it which in the center were highlighted with black.
"Whose outfit was this? Because one thing is for sure you stick with the same colors like hell."
"Oh, I had them make some garments with your colors on them. Of course they may be a little snug or too big but I just wanted something that reminded me of you, I figured your normal colors would work the best." He got up and walked to Tony, putting a hand over the area the Arc Reactor usually shone through in normal clothing, and twisted. A circle of the gold fell away and the blue light shone through. "Figured since it is such a huge part of you that it would greatest if this was visible, it even corresponds with the black areas along you, look." He gestured to a small circle that had once been black that was now the brilliant blue color that shone from Tony's chest.
"This is kick ass." He said as Loki grabbed a large cape that he set so the ends on each side were upon the shoulders. Tony looked at a few of the swirls that were along his arms with awe still, Loki said nothing but saw it out of the corner of his eye.
After a short walk they came to a large room again. There were so many rows of books Tony eventually had to stop looking fearing he may want to start counting and never finish that task.("Holy shit how much do you guys read here!?) A woman with long golden hair was sitting with her back to them shuffling through a book in a plush looking chair. She looked up and turned her head around a small bit before jumping to her feet and rushing to Loki.
She was elegant in every way you could think of, her strides were gracefully long and powerful but she did not run to them as he thought she might, she swung her arms proudly, her chin high and her chest puffed out a small bit. Obviously this was Frigga with the amount of love Loki held in his eyes when Tony looked him.
"Loki!" She gave him a tight hug that Loki returned equally, Frigga let go of Loki after a minute or so and hugged Tony without a word. He hugged her back awkwardly. "You must be the Anthony Stark I've heard so much about." Her voice was golden, and it was lulling to listen to as if it was a lullaby that, instead of making you tired made you more awake.
"Yes, that is me. And you must be Frigga?" He asked, looking at Loki for reassurance.
"Yes." She gave a large smile, Tony must have melted a small bit because said smile became brighter.
"It is an honor to meet you." Tony said to her, and she blushed a small bit.
"Oh, come, please both of you come sit with me I wish to hear more about you." She grabbed Loki's hand tightly and he followed behind like a small child, his eyes glazed over with some emotion Tony couldn't read.
She sat herself down in her chair again, and Loki sat down on a large chair across from her. He patted the one next to himself and Tony scurried over to it. Frigga still had her large smile across her face.
"Loki, remember when we'd come here for lessons?" She asked, looking at all the books.
"Yes, and not just about history either. I learned magic in this Library."
"Quite! Now, Master Stark, is it true that you too possess magic?"
"Uhm, no. But, what may I call you first? I honestly have no idea."
"You may address me as Frigga or you can call me something that a Midgardian would call a woman. So long as it is nothing rude." She said.
"Alright, no, Frigga I have no magic put I have this," He pointed at the Arc Reactor, "And different er robots that I've programmed to help me around. Loki knows one of these, JARVIS."
"Ah yes, JARVIS. What is he anyway?"
"An Artificial Intelligence. But, anyway, I have the ability in my suit of metal to control different energies. That's how I helped fight this guy over here."
"Oh, you too are one of the ones who fought against Loki?" The smile seemed to fade and the brightness in her eyes reduced.
"Yes, and I will say I'm not sure if it hadn't been for that I don't think me and Loki would be the way we are."
"And how is that?" She asked, her voice was not as friendly now and she was talking to Loki now.
"Well, I love him. And he loves me." Loki said smoothly, the smile once again was on her face. But she was cautious.
"Wonderful! Oh, Loki, why are you back here then, when your father can easily catch you? Go back to Midgard!"
"He's not my father." Loki muttered.
"If he is not your father, does that make me not your mother?" She asked, she'd heard him and he flushed.
"I was planning on staying is Asgard for a while longer. Are you sure?"
"Very sure! I want to see you happy for once. Go and go quickly!" She gave them both another hug and sent them off. Loki ran in silence back to his chambers.
"Well, that was a short trip." Tony said when they got back, he didn't bother to take off the Asgardian clothing. He picked up his other clothes and his bag, when he stood up with it on his shoulder he looked at Loki was had tears in his eyes. "What're you crying for?" Tony asked. "I think she liked me."
"She did like you it's just that I was hoping to stay for a while longer. But, we are to go quickly." He grabbed onto Tony and he felt that being sucked through a vacuum feeling again but he was back at Stark Tower with Loki. His heart was all fluttery when he took his bag and set it in his room, Loki following him.
"What do you say we change?" He asked when Loki flopped onto the bed. A muffled OK came from Loki and he stood up and began to remove his clothes. He was not shy with Tony, he felt no reason to be, and Tony had JARVIS get him a pair of jeans and a shirt that he would like and Loki walked in his underwear to the them.
"I forgot how comfortable Midgardian clothing was." He said as he pulled on the Batman shirt and blue jeans.
"They look good on you."
"And that looks good on you." Loki purred, wrapping his arms around Tony from behind. He grabbed the pale hands.
"Yeah but I have to get some help getting out of them." He said and Loki's green magic swirled around him, soon, Tony was standing in only boxers with his Asgardian clothing neat on the bed.
"Oh Anthony!" Loki made a fake scandalized voice but laughed aloud and moved back so Tony could change.
"Yes yes you're very funny. You did that on purpose." Tony said pulling on his jeans.
"Well I am a Trickster God." Loki reminded him, he chuckled again to himself. "It was funny and you know it." Tony threw on a shirt.
"OK, what to do with you?"
