Gracie's POV
I slide my gun into the waistband of my jeans
"Oh, no, thank you." Eugene says to Noah who is offering him a gun
"Just take it." Nicholas says as he walks past us
"Come on, you gotta protect yourself." Noah says
"Not if I don't go." Eugene says as I tuck my shirt behind my knife so it's easier to get to
"We're not driving all that way so we can just drive back with the wrong shit." Aiden says
"It's a dozen of these. They are consistent in appearance across manufacturers. The shit will be right. I--I-- I will install said shit. Then the grid will be fully operational again." Eugene says before Noah pushes the gun against his chest
"Grace." Maggie says before she nods her head at something behind me causing me to turn around and lock eyes with Carl who is holding my backpack
I walk over to him before he motions for me to turn around before I slide my arms in the straps
"I'll be back soon." I say as I turn back around to face him
"I know." He says before pecking my lips
"Ready?" Tara asks as I scoop up Noah's backpack off of the ground
"Yeah." I say before tossing Noah his back pack and we all pile into the van before loud dance music begins playing as Aiden starts the van
"Great, another mix." Noah says causing me to let out a small laugh
"Helps draw em away." Glenn says
*1 Hour Later*
"Looks like that door is our fastest way in and out." Aiden says as I grab my rifle out of the back of the van
"We should know all the exits first. So there's a plan if things go south." Glenn says
"Already got one." Nicholas states in a matter of fact tone
"It's called going out the front." He adds
"Noah, heads up." Tara says as a walker shuffles towards us
"Got it." Noah says before raising his silenced pistol and shooting the walker in the head
"Look at you with the aim." Aiden says as he hands him a rifle
"Glenn's right, we should do a perimeter check. Know our exits just in case." Aiden says
*15 Minutes Later*
The front entrance is completely overrun so its a good thing we did the perimeter check otherwise we'd all be someones dinner
Glenn bangs on the door and we all wait in case their are walkers inside
"Give it another second." Glenn says
"It's a big place. There could be some inside." He adds
"So let's say they are. Let's move. Let's be safe." Aiden says
"Alright." Glenn says before we all turn our flashlights on and raise both our flashlights and pistols before walking into the dark building
*3 Minutes Later*
"Shh.." Glenn says before we all stop in our tracks and hear metal rattling and walkers growling
"They're stuck behind something." Glenn says
"How do you know?" Aiden asks
"I don't. But they aren't here." Glenn says
"Alright. Hey, Let's go." He adds before we begin walking towards the noise once again
"Eyes up." Glenn whispers before we turn a corner and we're soon faced with group of walkers behind a fence
"Clear." Glenn says after looking for breaks in the fence
"You know your stuff." Aiden says
"We were out there a long time." I state
"There could be more." Glenn says
"Let's get to work." Aiden says
"You're up." Tara says as she shines her flashlight at Eugene
*10 Minutes Later*
"We found em!" I whisper yell
"Alright, Eugene." Glenn says before Tara begins loading some of them into my backpack before we hear a silenced gunshot
"It's got armor. Let it come closer." Glenn says
"I got it." Aiden says before another silenced gunshot fill my ears
"Aiden, stop! Stop!" Glenn yells before an explosion fills my ears and everything goes black
-Four Days Later-
My eyes flutter open and they immediately fall on Carl
"Hey." Carl whispers softly as Maggie rushes to my side with a cup of water
"What happened?" I ask with a raspy voice as I sit up enough to take a sip of water
"A shelf fell on you and knocked you unconscious." Glenn says as he comes into view
"The b--" I start
"The baby's fine." Maggie says cutting me off with a big smile
"And everybody else?" I ask as I look at Glenn who gives me a sad smile
"Who?" I ask
"...Aiden and...Noah. Almost lost you and Tara." Glenn says with a sad smile
"Hey, Kiddo." Tara says from the bed beside me
"Hey." I say with a big smile
"What'd I miss?" I ask as I look around the room
"A lot." Carl says as he strokes my hair
