Gracie's POV

We all have gathered in the church after Rick and the others got back and called for a meeting. He's been telling us about a group called the saviors that Abraham, Sasha, and Daryl had a run in with a few weeks back and how they're terrorizing the place Jesus lives

"We can work with the Hilltop. Maggie hammered out a deal. We're getting food— eggs, butter, fresh vegetables. But they're not just giving it away. These Saviors, they almost killed Sasha, Daryl, and Abraham on the road. Now, sooner or later, they would've found us, just like those wolves did, just like Jesus did. They woulda killed someone or some of us. And then they would try to own us. And we would try to stop them. But by then, in that kind of fight, low on food, we could lose. This is the only way to be sure, as sure as we can get, that we win. And we have to win. We do this for the Hilltop, it's how we keep this place. It's how we feed this place. This needs to be a group decision. If anybody objects, here's your chance to say your peace." Rick explains but everyone stays silent until Morgan stands up and we all look at him

"You're sure we can do it? We can beat em?" He asks

"What this Group has done, what we've learned, what we've become, all of us— yes, I'm sure." Rick says

"Then all we have to do is just tell them that." Morgan says

"They— they don't compromise." Rick says

"This isn't a compromise. It's a choice you give em. It's a way out, for them and for us." Morgan says

"We try and talk to the Saviors, we give up our advantage, our safety. No, we have to come for them before they come for us. We can't leave them alive." Rick states

"Where there's life, there's possibility." Morgan says

"Of them hitting us." Rick says

"We're not trapped in this. None of you are trapped in this." Morgan says to all of us

"Morgan...they always come back." Rick says

"Come back when they're dead, too." Morgan states

"Yeah, we'll stop them. We have before." Rick says

"I'm not talking about the walkers." Morgan says

"Morgan wants to talk to them first. I think that would be a mistake, but it's not up to me. I'll talk to the people still at home I'll discuss it with the people on guard now, too, but who else wants to approach the Saviors, talk to them first?" Rick asks causing Aaron to stand up from beside me

"What happened here, we won't let that happen again. I won't." Aaron says before nodding at Rick and sitting back down beside me

"Looks like it's settled. We know exactly what this is. We don't shy from it, we live. We kill them all. We don't all have to kill. But if people are going to stay here...they do have to except it." Rick says before walking to the back of the church and out the doors

-The Next Morning-

"You seen Carl?" I ask Tobin as I hold Judith in my arms

"Uh.." He says nervously

"Tobin..." I say with a stern look on my face

"You didn't hear it from me but check there." He says as he points to a white house across the street

"Thanks." I say before walking across the street to the house

I open the front door but theirs no Carl in sight

"Carl.." I call out but hear no response before I hear footsteps coming from down the hallway

"Babe.." I call out again as I walk down the hallway

I hear more footsteps coming from a bedroom

I open the door only to see Carl putting the lid on a paint can

"You weren't supposed to see this yet." He says with a small laugh as he walks towards me

"What is this?" I ask with a smile as Judith coos in my arms

"I'll tell you when it's done." Carl says as he leads me to the front door

"Carl." I whine with a pouty smile as he opens the front door

"It's a surprise. Come on." Carl says as I close the door behind us and we walk off of the porch

-3 Weeks Later-

Morgan built a jail cell. He said he wanted to "give us some choices next time". Daryl got his bike back apparently they found it at the Saviors compound. I noticed Carol and Tobin are now a thing. Rosita and Abraham have appeared to have broken up and I'm pretty sure Abraham and Sasha are a thing now. I'm also pretty sure Rosita and Spencer are sleeping together. Denise was killed by the Saviors whom we apparently didn't kill all of. Resulting in Daryl getting his crossbow back. And Carol left Alexandria in the middle of the night last night. Resulting in Rick and Morgan going to search for her. However, Rick returned a little while after they left. Eugene was shot and Maggie and I were forced to use what our father taught us over the years to save his life. Which now I guess qualifies me to be our new doctor but they have a doctor at hilltop so for emergencies we can always travel there. Which is where our group took Maggie a few hours ago because something was wrong with her baby. I asked Carl to go in place of me because I had to stay in the Infirmary. Daryl also left to retaliate on the Saviors for Denise. And Michonne, Rosita, and Glenn went after him

-The Next Morning-

The RV drives back into Alexandria and everyone except Maggie, Sasha, Glenn, Daryl, and Abraham step out. Most are covered in blood and the rest are covered in dirt

"Grace...let's—Uh— lets take a walk." Rick stutters out

"Rick, what happened? Where are the rest of us?" I ask as I rest my hand on my baby bump

"Grace.." He says trailing off as I look around at everyone's distraught faces

"Sasha accompanied Maggie to Hilltop." Eugene says

"And the others?" I ask as my voice cracks

"Daryl was taken." Rick states

"By the Saviors." Aaron adds

"What about Abraham and Glenn?" I ask as the tears form in my eyes

"Negan killed them." Rosita says as a single tear trails down her face

I stand there staring at everyone as the tears fall from my eyes before I turn around and walk back into the infirmary

-Later That Night-

I grab the one vile of terbutaline as Michonne walks into the infirmary where she rushes to my side after seeing me hooked up to an IV

"You gonna help me?" I ask as I grab a syringe before sitting down on the bed

"What is this?" She asks as she grabs the vile of terbutaline as another contraction takes over my body causing me to grip the bed sheets to keep from yelling out in pain

"It—ah!" I yell out in pain before the contraction ends

"It stops labor." I say breathlessly

"We should get you to Hilltop, Gracie." She says as I stick the needle into the vile

"No. This— this'll stop my labor for a couple hours at least. Maybe even a few days." I say as I suck the medicine out of the vile

"Will you?" I ask Michonne as I hold the syringe up to her

She hesitates but takes it before sticking it into a vein in my left arm and pumping it into my veins

"Thanks." I say as she pulls the syringe out before I push a cotton ball on the small spot of blood
