Gracie's POV

We're gearing up for war. Rick is in the middle of losing his mind and Daryl is gone so that leaves Glenn in charge

My dad wants to leave so we don't have to fight and Glenn wants to take the fight to Woodbury to fight for our home

Glenn and Carl went to check out the tombs where Carl found Tyrese and his people

Beth opens the gate to our common area as I walk into the common area with Judith in my arms

"The tombs outside the boiler room are overrun again." Glenn says as he and Carl walk into the common area

"That whole section had been cleared." Beth states as she locks the gate back

"It's a steady stream of walkers." Carl states

"We're wasting time. The governor is supposedly on the way and we're stuck in here with walkers." My dad says

"Trapped between a rock and a hard place." Carol says

"For the last time, running is not an option." Glenn says

"Glenn, if the tombs have filled up again, it may just be a matter of time before they push in here." Carol says

"Or until some fence gives way." Beth adds

"What if one of them herds is passing through?" Axel asks

"Can't handle that with just the few of us." Carol says

"Okay. Alright, we need-- we just need to scout the far side of the prison. Find out what's going on." Glenn says as I pass Judith to Beth

"You're going out there?" My dad asks

"Take a car and make it quick." Glenn says

"I'll drive." Axel says

"No, you stay here. Help with the fortifications. I'll take Maggie." Glenn says as Carl wraps his pinky around mine

"You sure she's up for that?" My dad asks before Glenn walks away from us and into the cell block

*1 Hour Later*

Carl and I are standing in the courtyard, Carol, Beth, and Axel are a couple feet away from us, Judith is napping inside the prison with Maggie, Michonne is out in the yard, and My dad is in the yard talking to Rick who is outside of the prison

"So about what happened the other day..." Carl says trailing off as his cheeks get bright red

"What about it?" I ask as I rock on my tippy toes and become nervous

"I--" Carl starts but is cut off by a gunshot and Axel's limp body falling to the ground

I grab Carl's arm and pull him to the ground before several more shots are fired

Carl grabs my hand before pulling me up off of the ground and pulling me over towards the bleachers for some cover

I quickly pull my gun out and Carl and I begin shooting at the guy in the guard tower

"Come on!" I shout over the gunfire before we take off running for better cover

"Grace!" Maggie yells as she runs out of the cell block with three rifles and the gunfire finally stops

I run over and take two of them from her before running back over to Carl and setting one of the rifles down

I pear down the scope of the rifle and lock eyes on my target

"Carol, go!" I shout before taking my shot, hitting the guy in the tower in the head

I hear a car approaching as Carol runs over to Carl, Beth, and I. And Maggie takes cover behind the file cabinets

I peak my head around the wall and see a van drive through our front gate, nearly hit Michonne, and stop in the middle of the yard before a gate flips open and walkers pour out of the van and into the yard

"Dad, get out of there!" I yell before someone in full riot gear gets out of the van and shoots at Michonne but Michonne ducks to the other side of the flipped over bus and the gunfire begins again

*2 Minutes Later*

I watch the governor and his men get in his truck and drive away

Maggie, Beth, Carol, Carl, and Myself rush to the gate that leads into the yard

Maggie and Carl quickly open it before we all begin shooting the walkers in the yard as Glenn finally shows up in the silver truck

Glenn drives the truck over to my dad as Michonne keeps the walkers at bay

Glenn and Michonne get my dad in the truck before they drive up into the courtyard and Carl and I quickly close the gate so the walkers don't get in

I run over to the truck as my dad gets out

"You okay?" Maggie asks

"Yes." My dad says before I engulf him in a hug
