Monday morning started cold and windy. The drive to school seemed longer than before. Challery used her powers to generate body heat as she lay against the glass thinking about Daniel. Her thoughts were interupted as the cab came to hault.
"Hey kiddo in here feels a little warm huh?"
The cab driver asked looking back at Challery curiously.
"Weird." he added.
She sighed and reversed the electrical currents in her body to stop the heat she was creating.
It was 4° on the outside and the streets were about 6 inches thick with snow.
What's wrong with a little warmth she thought to herself.
Challery had already informed Ariel about Daniel and her bestfriend was betting on the fact that he may be indeed Challery's soulmate. The day was going to be so exciting but when Challery reached to the university Daniel was nowhere in sight. Her first subject was enough to ease her mind from the thoughts of her twin flame. For a Masters in Media and Communication these subjects were pretty structured. When she made an inquiry administration said it was because the students who applied appeared younger and needed the assistance in subjects pre-selected for them. Challery knew she could handle herself; afterall she was a Monti.
The first subject Political Science and Law was not an easy topic and the history of The Democrats and Republicans was not something she was particulary interested in. Back home they didn't have a system like this in place. But hey, this was her choice and no boring teacher or annoying amount of assignments was going to desuade her from pressing on. The morning ended with an introductory course in Radio Advertisements. Challery introduced herself to the other four classmates. There was preppy and prissy Taylor Watts who was feeling herself way too much. Emma Crue, who seemed to care nothing about the degree or anyone for that matter. She really could have lightened up on the black Challery thought. Another student of African decent Yance Yearwood also had his hair locked but his jeans were really tight and the way he carried his handbag was interesting. He looked like some sort of athlete or gymnist and Piper Moore-the sweetest personality Challery had ever met. Piper was very much hippie and into spiritualism or something magical. Was she seriously carrying around a dream catcher? everyone thought but Challery saw nothing strange she appeared to be like anyone from back home. Loving, sweet and dreamy.
"Okay. Everyone your first assignment. I want you to research an ancient city and present a ten minute documentary on it next week," the teacher Señor Jesus said. He was short but his voice sure made up for that and his lips looked as though he had just finished eating jalepeño hot peppers. It wouldn't be suprising. The weather was that tempting. Anything to warm up. Challery began packing up when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Challery right?" Piper handed a paper with a drawing to Challery who seemed suprised.
"Y-Yeah. Piper Moore?" Challery asked.
"Something like it." Piper said chirpy.
Challery had dropped a note which had Daniel's eyes drawn on them. Her drawing had definately improved."You dropped this. You an artist ?" Piper looked intrigued.
"Kinda. Sorta. I'm just a little bit of everything you know?" Challery explained.
"I feel you, I feel you...What sign are you?" Piper asked.
"Oh I'm not sure but my birthday was earlier this month-"
"-An aries female. Amazing. I see why you're so into the arts. It definately goes with your aura. So Ram-like." Piper was so weird. The thing about it was that she seemed so comfortable blabbering on about what Challery thought was absolute junk. Not wanting to be rude Challery excused her self by saying she had to get something to eat.
"Oh. I'll join you."
"Its okay. I prefer to eat alone." Challery liked Piper but she was beginning to seem a little pushy.
Classes were done for the day and she had absolutley no idea what to do with herself.
Living in a foreign City had its perks like anonymity but then there was that thing where you had to get accustomed to not knowing anyone and vice-versa.----- ------- ------- ------- ------- --------

Daniel was not feeling so good after he left Challery and had to be checked in at the New York General hospital. He felt like air had left his lungs and he didn't know how to explain to anyone what he had been feeling. His mom, Mrs Johnson explained to his father the evening after dropping off Daniel that she had never seen Daniel looking so ill in such a short space of time.
"Do you think he's suicidal or cutting?" Mr Johnson asked on the drive back to home.
"I'm not sure but he seemed to be in a manic episode after coming home from the mall. He was starry eyed and really bubbly."
The mark above Daniel's forehead seemed even weirder to his parents.
Daniel lay on his hospital bed thinking about the fact that he knew this episode had something to do with the girl Challery Monti. She was all he could think about but he wouldn't be able to see her for another four months. He had school and basketball tryouts but he couldn't think about that he had to just focus on getting better. The IV drips in his hand made him feel even more ill. The nurse in charge noticed Daniel awake.
"Feeling any better Mr Johnson?" he asked.
Daniel was feeling like trash so he nodded his head and went back to sleep.
The hospital ward was a joint ward for those with mental health issues but people who had seizures, heart issues and post surgery recovery also shared the ward. It seemed like the week was going to be a quiet and restful one for Daniel. No angel. No beautiful eyes and gorgeous locs just white walls.
Challerly was back in her condo yapping with her mother about Daniel.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure its him ma."
"He even has a lighting bolt above his forehead. The one I have only seemed to form after meeting him.""Sweetie, just be careful. That's all that I'm asking. You know these people don't live like us. Athenia is very different..."
"Yeah I know..."
"You okay othewise baby?" Mrs Monti asked.
"I think I'll go rest. I just feel a little tired."
Challery wrapped up the conversation with her mother.
Her heart was hurting and she felt really hot. The moon at this time was halved. All she could think about was Daniel. She needed him.
